Brickhouse Cove Introduce
Are you searching for a unique and secluded camping experience in the "camping near me" category? Look no further than Brickhouse Cove, nestled in Edgewater, Florida. This waterfront campsite offers a distinctive getaway for those seeking tranquility and a connection with nature. Based on firsthand accounts, Brickhouse Cove presents a blend of natural beauty and a touch of adventure, making it a compelling option for local campers.
Location and Environment: Brickhouse Cove is situated in Edgewater, FL 32141, USA. Unlike traditional campgrounds with easily accessible land-based sites, Brickhouse Cove appears to be an island or a peninsula accessible primarily by water. This unique geography contributes significantly to its secluded and safe atmosphere. According to a recent visitor in April 2024, the island itself is relatively large compared to other campsites in the area, offering opportunities for exploration. The surrounding environment is characterized by shallow waters, which act as a natural barrier, deterring casual visitors and enhancing the sense of privacy.
Water Access and Boating: One of the defining features of Brickhouse Cove is its direct access to the water. For those planning to arrive by boat, it's crucial to be aware of the tidal conditions. The reviewer mentioned navigating an 18ft Tidewater boat with a 12-inch draft and having to identify the deepest route, particularly during low tide. They noted a roughly six-hour window for boat access (getting in and out) due to the tidal fluctuations. At high tide, however, accessing the campsite by boat is reportedly much easier. This makes Brickhouse Cove an appealing destination for boat owners who enjoy waterfront camping.
Fishing Opportunities: Brickhouse Cove's location near Jones Canal is a significant draw for fishing enthusiasts. The reviewer observed multiple boats fishing in the canal every time they came and went, indicating it's a popular and likely productive fishing spot. If you enjoy angling, Brickhouse Cove could be an excellent base for your camping trip, offering the convenience of fishing right by your campsite.
Campsite Features and Services: Based on the available information, Brickhouse Cove appears to be a more primitive camping experience. The reviewer specifically mentioned the absence of a picnic table at their site, highlighting the importance of bringing essential camping gear. While the review doesn't detail specific amenities like restrooms, water sources, or designated fire pits, it suggests a more self-sufficient camping approach. The spaciousness of the island is a notable positive, allowing for exploration and a greater sense of immersion in nature.
Seclusion and Safety: The shallow waters surrounding Brickhouse Cove contribute to its secluded nature and a feeling of safety. The reviewer explicitly stated that the campsite felt safe due to the shallow waters deterring most people. This makes it an attractive option for campers seeking a peaceful and secure environment away from more crowded campgrounds.
Promotional Aspects and Why Choose Brickhouse Cove: For local users browsing the "camping near me" category, Brickhouse Cove offers a unique blend of adventure and tranquility. Imagine setting up camp on a secluded island, accessible by your own boat, surrounded by the natural beauty of Florida's waterways. The opportunity for excellent fishing in the nearby Jones Canal adds another layer of appeal. While it may require more self-sufficiency in terms of amenities, the reward is a private and immersive camping experience. If you value solitude, waterfront access, and the chance to explore, Brickhouse Cove could be your ideal next camping destination.
To summarize, Brickhouse Cove in Edgewater, FL, provides a distinctive camping experience characterized by:
- Secluded waterfront location: Accessible primarily by boat, offering privacy.
- Boating opportunities: Be mindful of tidal conditions for navigating in and out.
- Excellent fishing: Located near the popular Jones Canal.
- Spacious campsite: The island is large enough for exploration.
- A sense of safety: Shallow waters contribute to a secure environment.
While it may lack some of the standard amenities of developed campgrounds, Brickhouse Cove's unique characteristics make it a compelling choice for adventurous campers seeking a more natural and isolated experience within the "camping near me" category.

Brickhouse Cove Reviews
We stayed here in mid April 2024, we brought out 18ft tidewater which drafts about 12 inches full of camping gear. We had to find the deepest route which is highlighted in blue. We found this out as we showed up at low tide and had to wait for the tide to roll in and walked out the deepest points. With a boat you have a 6 hour window of getting in and out of this camp site. At high tide there is no difficulty getting in and out. There is no picnic table at this site, fortunately we brought a table. The island is big compared to other campsites, which is good for some exploring. Camp site is safe and secluded due to it being very shallow and most people are afraid to go back there. Jones canal is a hot fishing spot, as every time we came and went there were multiple boats fishing it. We would visit again.
