Three Rivers State Park - Campground Introduce
For local residents seeking "camping near me" with the natural beauty and recreational opportunities of a Florida State Park, Three Rivers State Park - Campground, located at Lakeside Rd, Sneads, FL 32460, USA, offers a lakeside setting that may appeal to those looking for a short outdoor escape. While specific contact information wasn't provided in the prompt, you can typically find reservation details and park information on the Florida State Parks official website or by searching online for "Three Rivers State Park Campground."
Three Rivers State Park is situated at the confluence of the Chattahoochee and Flint Rivers, which form the Apalachicola River, and borders Lake Seminole. This unique geographical location contributes to the park's diverse environment, characterized by woodlands and the expansive lake. The lake views are noted as a positive aspect by visitors, suggesting a scenic backdrop for camping and potential water-based activities. The area is likely to offer opportunities for wildlife viewing, although specific details about the park's flora and fauna are not provided in the given reviews.
The campground itself is described as "small sized" and located by the lakeside. This intimate setting might appeal to those seeking a more contained camping experience. One positive aspect highlighted in the reviews is the helpfulness and hard work of the camp host, Tom. He is mentioned for providing good local recommendations, such as the "ma & pa restaurant" Johnny Mac's, which one visitor enjoyed. The presence of a helpful and knowledgeable camp host can significantly enhance a camping trip, providing assistance and local insights.
However, it's important to consider the feedback regarding the overall camping atmosphere. One reviewer, a "snowbird" using the park for a short stopover, mentioned that the majority of other campers were weekenders who were "not really aware of the unwritten rules of camping." This resulted in experiences of "radios all day and night, kids running through our site, and dogs off leash," leading to a perception of less privacy and more noise than preferred. This suggests that the campground might have a more active and less secluded atmosphere, particularly during weekends.
The same reviewer also noted that, at a rate of $16 per night, they felt the park attracted a clientele that might not adhere to typical campground etiquette. This is a subjective observation but provides insight into the potential expectations versus the reality of the camping experience at this price point. While affordability can be a significant draw, it's worth considering the potential trade-offs in terms of peace and quiet.
Another environmental factor mentioned is the impact of a past hurricane on the forest. The reviewer noted that "the last hurricane did a number on the forest, but it is recovering." This indicates that the natural landscape may still be in a state of regeneration, which could affect the overall aesthetic and the availability of shade or natural barriers between campsites. However, the fact that it is recovering suggests that the park is resilient and the natural beauty is gradually returning.
For local users considering Three Rivers State Park - Campground for a "camping near me" option, it appears to be a suitable choice for shorter stays, particularly weekend getaways, where a lively atmosphere might be expected. The lakeside location offers scenic views, and the presence of a helpful camp host is a significant advantage. However, those seeking a longer, more private, and quieter camping experience might find the environment less ideal, especially during peak weekend periods. The ongoing recovery of the forest after hurricane damage is also something to keep in mind, as it might influence the campsite's ambiance and natural features.
Given the limited information about specific services and amenities beyond the lakeside location and the presence of a camp host, it would be beneficial for prospective campers to consult the official Florida State Parks website for details. This would include information on the types of campsites available (e.g., RV sites with hookups, tent sites), any available facilities (e.g., restrooms, showers, picnic areas, fire rings), and rules and regulations. Information about potential recreational activities within the park, such as fishing, boating, or hiking trails, would also be valuable in making an informed decision.
There is no promotional information provided in the reviews, so local users would need to check the official park website or contact them directly for any current offers or seasonal rates. The $16 per night mentioned by one reviewer might be subject to change and could vary based on the type of campsite and the time of year.
In conclusion, Three Rivers State Park - Campground offers a lakeside camping experience in Sneads, Florida, within a state park setting. It appears to be a popular destination for weekend campers, with a helpful camp host and scenic lake views. However, potential visitors should be aware of the possibility of noise and limited privacy, as noted by one reviewer, and the ongoing recovery of the forest from past hurricane damage. For those seeking a short and potentially social "camping near me" experience by the water, Three Rivers State Park could be a viable option, but further research on the park's amenities and current conditions is recommended.

Three Rivers State Park - Campground Reviews
Our stay at Three Rivers was short, but we got a good feel for the place. We are snowbirds that use our RV to avoid bad weather and see our great country. Three Rivers was a stay for us in-between to longer stay parks. I would not recommend this park for a full 2 week stay. Most of the other campers were weekenders and not really aware of the unwritten rules of camping. We experienced radios all day and night, kids running through our site, and dogs off leash. At the higher end parks, this doesn't happen. The ranger and staff were all nice it's just at $16 a night you get some riffraff. The last hurricane did a number on the forest, but it is recovering. The lake views are nice. For us, we prefer more privacy and less noise.
Jan 02, 2024 · DacksIt’s a nice small sized campground by the lakeside. The park is well maintained and our camphost Tom has been very helpful and hardworking! He gave good recommendation of ma & pa restaurant to go to and we enjoyed our dinner at Johnny Mac! It was a one night stay on weekday, and it’s been peaceful and enjoyable stay!
