Black Beach Municipal Campground Reviews
We stayed 3 nights here and enjoyed the new campground. It was very quiet, both in regards to other campers and highway noise. We were on the full hookups area. There are no shade trees but using our awning helped. We loved the convenience of the location, easy to explore the North Shore from this home base. Walking to the amazing Black Beach was easy. Our 3 grandchildren enjoyed crawling on the borders and swimming at Black Beach. There only complaint was the playground had very little to do.We will definitely return!
Aug 07, 2024 · Diane KestnerThis is a nice new campground and in a few years the trees will start building up a bit. It’s close to needed services and a few nice beach areas. The roadways are still being finished up so there was a little confusion getting to my spot. Overall, I loved this location. It was very clean.I couldn’t get a spot with water hookups because they were all booked so I was just going to fill my water tank upon entering. This is the only negative…the water pump had extremely weak/low water flow and would have taken me hours to fill up. So I just skipped that part, used the vault toilets near my site and the showers at the office. The gentleman at the desk when I checked in was very helpful and understanding. Will definitely stay there again.
Aug 24, 2024 · Catrice WeirensPerfect spot to spend the night and visit Black Beach and hike the Silver Bay trail to Bean and Bear Lake. The information and directions online were very helpful. Reserve ahead of time, like 2 weeks or so to ensure a spot. Text the number provided in the email to have someone bring you firewood. They will add the charge to your credit card payment already on file online. They have outhouse bathrooms and their main building office has showers and bathrooms with codes to enter them.
Oct 01, 2024 · Peter VangWe got here at 5pm after hiking and someone swiped my campsite by dumping their trailer there. Went to the office, called the number and left an email. No one is around to help resolve the issue nor has anyone reached back out. Doesn’t seem to be a host around either. Beware if anything goes wrong. Really disappointed.Edit: Managed to get them to leave. Now that I am calmer it’s great to see the stars from here. Neighbors are quiet and chill. The ground is very hard so it took a while to get tents up.
Oct 06, 2024 · Ella NunoThe best part about that campground is the proximity to the Big Lake and Black Beach. Expensive, no privacy, no trees, super close to highway. They pack us in like sardines. Feels sterile to me. Playground is very small.
