Enterprise Campground Introduce
Are you searching for an "off the beaten path" "camping near me" experience in Wisconsin that combines beautiful, spacious campsites with direct access to recreational trails? Look no further than Enterprise Campground, located on Shingle Mill Rd in Gleason, WI 54435, USA. This campground has garnered positive reviews from visitors who appreciate its roomy sites and convenient trail access, making it an excellent choice for local users seeking an adventurous and relaxing outdoor getaway.
The environment of Enterprise Campground is frequently highlighted as a major asset. One reviewer described it as an "awesome place to camp n ride ....on the trail!" This clearly indicates that the campground is situated in an area known for its trails, likely catering to activities such as ATV riding, hiking, or possibly biking, depending on the specific trail system accessible from the campground. The mention of "beautiful spacious sites" suggests that the camping areas are well-laid out, offering ample room for tents, RVs, and outdoor gear, while also providing an aesthetically pleasing natural setting. The fact that the sites are described as "spacious" multiple times underscores this desirable feature, ensuring a comfortable and uncrowded camping experience.
A significant feature of Enterprise Campground is its direct access to trails. The enthusiastic comment about being able to "camp n ride ....on the trail!" strongly implies that the campground is either located directly on or has immediate access to a network of trails suitable for recreational vehicles like ATVs. This makes it a prime destination for enthusiasts of these activities, allowing for seamless integration of camping and trail riding without the need for additional transportation to trailheads. For local users who enjoy ATV riding or similar outdoor pursuits, this direct trail access is a major convenience and attraction.
Another appealing aspect of Enterprise Campground is its location "off the beaten path." This suggests a more secluded and potentially quieter camping experience, away from the hustle and bustle of more mainstream campgrounds. For those seeking tranquility and a greater connection with nature, this off-the-beaten-path setting can be a significant advantage, offering a more peaceful and immersive outdoor retreat.
Despite its somewhat secluded location, Enterprise Campground appears to be well-equipped to handle campers' needs. One reviewer noted that it "served our camping needs," implying that essential amenities were available and satisfactory. While specific details about these amenities are not provided in the reviews, we can infer that basic facilities such as restrooms, water access, and possibly fire pits and picnic tables are likely present to support a comfortable camping experience.
An interesting and unique feature of Enterprise Campground is the presence of "Dino, who greets the campers." This personal touch adds a layer of character and hospitality to the campground. While the reviews don't elaborate on Dino's role or personality, the fact that he is mentioned as a "unique addition" suggests that he contributes positively to the welcoming atmosphere and overall experience of staying at the campground. This personal interaction can make a campground feel more friendly and memorable.
The proximity of Enterprise Campground to Almon County Park is another significant benefit. Located nearby, Almon County Park offers additional recreational opportunities, including a beach and hiking trails. This expands the range of activities available to campers at Enterprise Campground, providing options for swimming, sunbathing, and exploring more of the natural surroundings. The availability of both trail riding directly from the campground and hiking trails a short distance away caters to a variety of outdoor interests.
The fact that Enterprise Campground had "plenty to select from on the 4th of July weekend!" is noteworthy. The Fourth of July is a peak camping holiday in the United States, with many campgrounds filling up well in advance. The availability of spacious campsites even during this busy period suggests that Enterprise Campground is either quite large or perhaps less widely known, making it a potentially good option for those who may have difficulty finding availability at more popular locations during peak seasons.
While the reviews do not explicitly mention specific services such as electric hookups, water hookups, or dump stations, the description of "spacious sites" is generally consistent with campgrounds that accommodate a range of camping styles, including RV camping which often requires these amenities. Local users with specific requirements are advised to contact the campground directly to inquire about the availability of these services.
Similarly, no specific promotional information or discounts are mentioned in the provided reviews. However, the positive feedback regarding the beautiful and spacious sites, direct trail access, the unique welcome from Dino, and the proximity to Almon County Park with its beach and hiking trails serve as strong implicit promotions for the campground. For local users seeking a "camping near me" experience that combines adventure, relaxation, and natural beauty, Enterprise Campground appears to be a compelling choice.
In conclusion, Enterprise Campground in Gleason, Wisconsin, offers a fantastic opportunity for a "camping near me" getaway, particularly for those interested in trail riding and enjoying spacious campsites in a beautiful, off-the-beaten-path setting. The direct access to trails is a significant advantage for ATV enthusiasts, while the proximity to Almon County Park provides additional recreational options like swimming and hiking. The unique welcome from Dino adds a personal touch to the experience. While specific amenities should be confirmed directly with the campground, the positive reviews and the appealing combination of features make Enterprise Campground a strong contender for your next outdoor adventure in Wisconsin.

Aug 08, 2020 · Lucinda TurnisOff the beaten path campground that served our camping needs. Spacious campsites with plenty to select from on the 4th of July weekend! Almon County Park is nearby with a beach and hiking trails. Dino, who greets the campers, is a unique addition!
Jul 10, 2024 · Sarah WanishGreat little out of the way campground. Nice sized sites with pedistal grills at pretty much every site! Firewood is free + donation. Toilet house was clean for a pit toilet. Very peaceful and quiet area. Also has a double site and a handicap site.
Aug 28, 2023 · robert kallioLove the campground I am handicapped and hard to walk. I would think number 2 site would be best for the handicap. Because there's no hilt to climb and easier to walk to.
May 11, 2024 · David1963 BassbuggyWell maintained County Campground. Super quiet and absolutely loved the fact that even the four wheelers were well behaved and didn't party to loud. Bathroom was clean as well. This is my nee favorite place and we will be here often!
