The sounds of the flowing river and the natural landscape contribute to a relaxing ambiance, making it a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. For those seeking a getaway where they can reconnect with nature, this campground offers a promising setting.
One of the standout features of this RV park is its direct offering of kayaking and rafting experiences. Guests have enthusiastically recounted their river adventures, highlighting the fun and excitement of floating down the Illinois River. However, it's important to note some crucial details regarding the river conditions. Reviewers have mentioned the presence of rocks and trees in the water, requiring vigilance during float trips. One specific area with a fast current and a potential hazard involving a tree was pointed out, advising caution and suggesting going around it if possible. Unfortunately, one group experienced their raft being punctured due to a tree in the water, underscoring the need for awareness and careful navigation.
For those planning longer river excursions, such as the 11-mile routes mentioned in the reviews, it is strongly recommended to bring an ample supply of food, water, and drinks. These longer trips require preparation to ensure the comfort and safety of all participants. The duration of these floats suggests a significant time commitment, allowing for a full day of river enjoyment, provided one is well-prepared.

In terms of services and amenities for RV campers, the information from the reviews provides some key details. The hookup sites are equipped with 30A electrical service. It is important to note that there are no blackwater hookups directly at the individual sites. However, a dump station is available on the premises for the convenient disposal of blackwater waste. Additionally, dumpsters are provided for general trash disposal, ensuring the cleanliness of the campground.
One review mentioned reservation issues arising from a holiday weekend, but praised the property managers for their ability to handle these situations. This indicates a responsive and capable management team that strives to resolve guest concerns effectively, even during peak times. The reviewer also noted that most guests were respectful, contributing to a pleasant and family-friendly weekend atmosphere. This suggests a community environment where visitors generally adhere to campground etiquette, enhancing the overall experience for everyone.
While specific details about other campground amenities, such as restroom and shower facilities, laundry services, or Wi-Fi availability, are not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews, the focus on the river activities and the basic RV hookups suggests a more nature-oriented camping experience. It would be beneficial for potential guests to contact the RV park directly at (479) 879-2287 or +1 479-879-2287 to inquire about the full range of amenities offered to ensure it meets their specific needs and expectations.
The reviews also offer a glimpse into the potential for unexpected encounters with local wildlife or even stray animals, as evidenced by the heartwarming story of the dumped dog who swam alongside a group for an extended period. While this was an unusual circumstance, it highlights the natural environment surrounding the campground and the potential for unexpected events when camping near a river.

Illinois River RV Park Campground & Floats, Kayaking & Rafting Reviews
I went kayaking and rafting this weekend Friday -Sunday over memorial weekend. I was with the Cliffs group, the owner was very kind and sweet and everyone was nice. Thank you!I just wanna say it’s a peaceful campground and nice spot! The rafting was fun but there are a lot of bricks and trees in the water to be ware of. (There is one spot where the water rushes down fast and u hit a tree if your not careful go around it if possible, ) we had our raft popped during the float trip cuz of the tree in the water! Our 2nd day stay it was interesting, we saw a dumped dog whom was swimming 8 miles following our group and swimming in the water the whole time! I kept bringing it into my canoe so it can breathe cuz it’s been swimming 5 hours! I kept telling my boyfriend I’m going to keep this dog if nobody claimed it by later that night, someone did take the dog home ( thank god) made me emotional but I’m glad someone took him home: what a amazing dog for swimming that far;My group did 11 miles both days and it’s a long route , make sure to bring enough food and water and drinks lol . It was fun.I live in Springfield mo and I am glad I came here for the first time over memorial weekend!
Oct 03, 2023 · Karina S (M)The location is ideal. A holiday weekend caused some reservation issues but nothing the property managers couldn't handle. Most were respectful guests and it was a nice family weekend. Hookup sites are 30A. No blackwater hookups at site. Dump on site. Dumpsters available.
May 31, 2023 · Angela GrimesWe’ve floated here a handful of times now and we love it. Last year I called around to many different kayak/canoe rental places in the area and this was by far the cheapest float I found. Always a plus! It’s also closer to NWA than most businesses I called. Another plus in our book! One thing I really like about this place is they allow shuttles up until 3pm. Perfect for those of us who aren’t morning people and prefer a later float. We’ve swam here, fished here, and floated. We love it all and will continue to be customers!
Jul 31, 2023 · Chelsea WareFriendly staff, they let you camp and don't bother you. River was like 15 feet away. Water crisp and cold and clean. Bring ur own firewood. The primitive campsites without power are back in the hidden area. Very nice!!! Not all prissy and stuck up like gypsy camp. My kinda spot. It's more gypsy style than the actual gypsy campsite across the street. Loved it!!
Sep 17, 2023 · Gabe HannahsFantastic camping right on the river! Stunning view. We stayed here on the Trans-America Trail and would absolutely come back.
