Camp Creekside Introduce
For local residents seeking "camping near me" in the vicinity of Lake Ozark, Camp Creekside, located at 101 Spring Branch Dr, Gravois Mills, MO 65037, USA, presents a camping option with some noteworthy features. You can reach them at (573) 505-8766 or +1 573-505-8766 to inquire about availability and specific details. Based on online reviews, Camp Creekside offers a location near natural beauty and some convenient amenities, though it's important to consider all feedback when making your decision.
One early reviewer, identifying as a motorcycle camper with extensive experience across the country and in Canada, initially proclaimed Camp Creekside as their "favorite!" This positive initial impression was based on the friendly and helpful nature of "EVERYONE" encountered. The reviewer also highlighted the cleanliness, well-kept grounds, and quiet atmosphere of the campground. Furthermore, they noted the cost as "very reasonable," especially in comparison to other locations during motorcycle rallies, suggesting potential value for this type of traveler.
This initial positive review concluded by describing Camp Creekside as a "real treasure to find" and expressed a definite intention to return. It's important to note this perspective comes from a specific timeframe and a particular type of camper.
Another reviewer described Camp Creekside as an "amazing RV Park" due to its unique natural setting. A key feature highlighted was its location "right next to a natural spring fed creek, full of all kinds of fish and ducks." This creek-side environment offers a different ambiance compared to being directly on the lakefront, potentially appealing to those who enjoy the sounds and sights of a natural stream. The reviewer also noted a "Great view of lake still," suggesting a visual connection to Lake Ozark without being directly exposed to potential lake traffic and noise.
The amenities at Camp Creekside were also praised in this review, specifically mentioning "Nice actual restrooms with waterfall showers," a significant upgrade from basic pit toilets and indicating a focus on providing more comfortable facilities for guests. The convenience of the location was further emphasized by the proximity to "Basic stores and very good restaurants within walking distance," offering easy access to essential supplies and dining options. Additionally, the availability of "public access to lake right across the road" provides convenient entry to Lake Ozark for boating, swimming, and other water activities.
However, it is crucial to consider a subsequent edit from the same reviewer, offering a significantly different perspective after an extended stay of "almost a year." This later feedback suggests a decline in the reviewer's satisfaction, stating that the campground was "NOT worth it" and that "Way better places cost less." This indicates a potential issue with the perceived value over time.
The later review also raises concerns about the social environment, alleging that "Most people here are fake and try to start problems behind people's back." This paints a less welcoming picture than the initial positive feedback regarding friendliness. Furthermore, the reviewer mentions a "man who isn't even an employee, who is actually friends with old owner, I'm pretty sure is trying to undermine the actual staff," suggesting potential internal issues affecting the guest experience.
A serious concern raised in the edited review is the accusation of "ALOT of hidden racism." This is a significant factor that potential visitors should be aware of and consider in their decision-making process. The reviewer further noted that "The few people who actually are nice stick to themselves," potentially indicating a segregated or unwelcoming atmosphere for some.
While acknowledging that "Kids enjoy it here," the reviewer attributes this to their naivety, stating, "But only because they don't see these things in life yet." The reviewer also claims to have "even watched other people's kids be judged here," extending the negative social observations to younger guests.
The concluding advice from this long-term reviewer is to "do research" and asserts that "There are way better places around the lake." This strongly suggests that potential visitors should not rely solely on the initial positive reviews and should seek a broader range of recent feedback before making a reservation at Camp Creekside.
Based on the conflicting information from the reviews, Camp Creekside offers a location near a natural spring-fed creek and Lake Ozark, with amenities like waterfall showers and proximity to stores and restaurants. It may have initially offered a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, particularly for short-term visitors like motorcycle campers. However, more recent feedback from a long-term guest raises significant concerns about the overall value, social environment, potential internal issues, and allegations of racism. While children may find enjoyment in the physical surroundings, these serious allegations warrant careful consideration.
Given the stark contrast in the provided reviews, it is difficult to offer specific promotional information or definitively highlight features without further objective data. Potential local users searching for "camping near me" should weigh the initial positive feedback against the later, more critical assessment. It is strongly recommended to seek additional, recent reviews from various sources to gain a more comprehensive and balanced understanding of the current state of Camp Creekside before making a booking decision.
To obtain the most up-to-date information on pricing, availability, and any current management or policy changes, contacting Camp Creekside directly at (573) 505-8766 or +1 573-505-8766 is advisable. Exploring other campgrounds in the Gravois Mills and Lake Ozark area, as suggested by the later reviewer, would also be a prudent step in finding the best "camping near me" experience.

Camp Creekside Reviews
Go here!!!!I’ve been to campgrounds on my motorcycle all over the county, and in Canada. Camp Creekside was my favorite!EVERYONE was so friendly and helpful. The place was clean, well kept & quiet. And the cost was very reasonable - something that is unheard of during a motorcycle rally anywhere else I’ve traveled. All and all Camp Creekside was a real treasure to find and I will definitely be back!!ps: Do NOT eat at the BBQ joint across the street…
Sep 22, 2024 · John SchmidtThis is an amazing RV Park. It sits right next to a natural spring fed creek, full of all kinds of fish and ducks. Great view of lake still, but enough away to not be bothered by lake traffic. Nice actual restrooms with waterfall showers. Not a pit toilet. Basic stores and very good restaurants within walking distance. As well as public access to lake right across the road.Edit: Was forced into first review just for discount. After almost a year here, I can say it is NOT worth it. Way better places cost less. Most people here are fake and try to start problems behind people's back. There's a man who isn't even an employee, who is actually friends with old owner, I'm pretty sure is trying to undermine the actual staff. ALOT of hidden racism. The few people who actually are nice stick to themselves. Kids enjoy it here. But only because they don't see these things in life yet. However I've even watched other people's kids be judged here. all in all, do research. There are way better places around the lake.
