Camp Karankawa Reviews
This camp is excellent for people who love some adventure, and especially for Boy Scouts. I recently went here with my troop(446) and we all had a blast. They have many different classes for merit badges and also a few different other activities, like Shotgun Shooting and Archery. You also have the opportunity to become a Counselor in Training(CIT) as youth, or a Counselor if you are an adult. The food there is awesome and would really recommend for any troop in the Bay Area Council or Sam Houston Council to go there for their Fall Camp, which is what I just went to. Overall a good place.
Nov 27, 2024 · Sebastian CuellarWent to this camp over 30 years ago. I don't remember much, but I remember how much fun I had as a kid. Glad to see it's still in operation.
Apr 12, 2025 · GrahamJust a heads up for those who don't know, I'm pretty sure this campground is for scouts only, but might be wrong about that.We had a pretty good camping area and the facilities were usable, but the bathrooms, bridges and fort need maintenance pretty bad and are a safety hazard. On our hike we came across a building with broken windows and looked abandoned. Being out in nature you do need to be on the lookout, as we came across a copperhead at night walking from the bathroom to the tent. That goes for any campground.
May 22, 2024 · DanielGreat experience for all campers. Do not know all the ins and outs of the camp grounds but it's camping and not a hotel; so, enjoy the outdoors.
