Cinco de Mayo Campground Introduce
For local residents seeking a "camping near me" experience in the Farmington, Missouri area, Cinco de Mayo Campground, located at 1042 Hwy H, Farmington, MO 63640, USA, presents itself as a "cute little place" known for its quiet atmosphere. You can contact them at (573) 326-9008 or +1 573-326-9008 for inquiries and bookings. Based on the limited but informative customer reviews, this campground appears to offer a peaceful setting with convenient access to outdoor recreation.
The environment of Cinco de Mayo Campground is described as "nice" and "quiet" by multiple reviewers, suggesting a tranquil setting that appeals to those seeking a relaxing getaway. One reviewer specifically noted a "nice, quiet evening," indicating that the campground provides a peaceful atmosphere, particularly during the night. This could be a significant draw for local users looking to escape the noise and bustle of everyday life and enjoy the serenity of nature. While the reviews don't offer extensive details about the landscape within the campground itself, the mention of a nearby boat launch and conservation area provides valuable context about the surrounding environment and potential recreational opportunities.
One of the key features highlighted in the reviews is the campground's proximity to a boat launch, although the distance isn't specified within the campground property itself. This suggests that Cinco de Mayo Campground could be an appealing option for local residents who enjoy boating and water-related activities. The convenience of having a boat launch nearby would allow campers to easily access local waterways for fishing, kayaking, or simply enjoying time on the water. This feature enhances the overall appeal for outdoor enthusiasts who want to combine camping with aquatic adventures.
Furthermore, the campground is located less than half a mile from a conservation area. This is a significant advantage for nature lovers, hikers, and those interested in exploring the local flora and fauna. Conservation areas typically offer trails for walking and hiking, opportunities for wildlife viewing, and a chance to immerse oneself in the natural landscapes of the region. The close proximity of such an area to Cinco de Mayo Campground adds considerable value, providing campers with easily accessible opportunities for outdoor recreation and exploration beyond the campground itself. Local users who appreciate hiking, birdwatching, or simply spending time in nature will find this feature particularly attractive.
One reviewer offered a crucial insight regarding the size and layout of Cinco de Mayo Campground, stating that it is "really designed for the under 30' travel trailer group." This suggests that the campsites and maneuvering space within the campground might be somewhat limited, potentially posing a challenge for larger recreational vehicles. The same reviewer, who was traveling in a 45' Newell Coach, explicitly mentioned that getting into the park and parked was "a challenge" but ultimately "doable." This information is vital for local users who own larger RVs or travel trailers. While it might be possible to accommodate larger vehicles, it's advisable to contact the campground directly to inquire about site sizes, accessibility, and any specific instructions or recommendations for navigating the park with a larger rig. Campers with smaller travel trailers or tents might find the campground more easily navigable and suitable for their needs.
The reviews do not provide specific details about other services and features that might be available at Cinco de Mayo Campground. Common campground amenities often include restroom facilities, water sources, and potentially electrical hookups. Given the "cute little place" description, it's possible that the campground offers more basic amenities suitable for shorter stays or those who are self-contained. Local users should inquire about the availability of essential services such as waste disposal, shower facilities, and the type of hookups offered at individual campsites when making a reservation.
Currently, there is no promotional information available for Cinco de Mayo Campground based on the provided customer reviews. Local residents interested in camping here should contact the campground directly using the provided phone numbers, (573) 326-9008 or +1 573-326-9008, to inquire about their rates, availability, and any potential discounts or special offers that might be running. It's always a good idea to ask about seasonal pricing or any deals for local residents when making a booking.
In conclusion, Cinco de Mayo Campground near Farmington, Missouri, appears to be a quiet and conveniently located option for local campers, particularly those with smaller travel trailers or those seeking proximity to outdoor recreational opportunities. Its peaceful atmosphere and the close access to a boat launch and a conservation area are significant advantages. However, those with larger RVs should be aware of potential challenges in maneuvering and parking. As the available information on specific services and features is limited, direct communication with the campground is essential for local users to gather all necessary details and make an informed decision about their "camping near me" experience at Cinco de Mayo Campground. Inquiring about site suitability for your specific type of camping setup and any current promotions will help ensure a pleasant and well-planned getaway.

Cinco de Mayo Campground Reviews
Cute little place. Really designed for the under 30' travel trailer group. My 45' Newell Coach was a challenge to get into the park and get parked, but it's doable. Nice, quiet evening
Aug 09, 2024 · Jeff RahnVery nice, quiet little campground with a boat launch and a conservation area just less than 1/2 mile away
Apr 19, 2025 · Nevin MarshallVery nice little place right on a small River. Definitely a quiet little place not that many set-ups for camping.
Sep 23, 2023 · Mark HawkinsHad the pleasure of parking my conversion here for a peaceful night in the early Spring. Coming off of 67 it was a real treat to find a woodsy, quiet campground so close to the highway - without a whisper of highway traffic. The local access road is practically silent at night. I heard an owl and peepers in the creek. The light pollution is so minimal in this area, the stargazing conditions are excellent. The site management is very obviously in tune with what both full- and part-time travelers need in a dock. They were super prompt to respond to my last-minute inquiry. With the amenities of Fredericktown and Farmington just minutes away, I'll definitely be returning to further explore the mines, caves, and old growth forest.
Apr 11, 2021 · Ferris McEvoySmall campground with 5 sites and a couple cabins. Nice amenities and and a serene location. We stayed in campsite 5. The other sites and cabins appeared to be long term renters. Only complaint is the how un-level site 5 was side to side, we used all the leveling blocks we had and still needed a couple more inches. Bathroom and property was clean and modern. Tmobile service was roaming on AT&T with okay service. Not sure if wifi was available. Will stay here again next time we're in the area.
