Environment: Lakeside Beauty and Secure Setting
The most prominent environmental feature of Fisherman's Landing Inc is its "easy access to Lake Muskegon." This lakeside location provides campers with opportunities for various water-related activities, such as fishing, boating, and enjoying the scenic views of the lake. The direct access to the lake is a significant draw for those searching for "camping near me" with waterfront enjoyment in mind. The beautiful landscaping around the campground further enhances the aesthetic appeal of the environment, creating a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere for guests.
A notable aspect of Fisherman's Landing Inc is that it is a "gated campground," which contributes to a feeling of safety and security for campers, making it particularly attractive for families. This added layer of security provides peace of mind and enhances the overall family-friendly environment of the campground. The presence of "a few different patio swings that look over the lake" offers serene spots for relaxation and enjoying the picturesque views of Lake Muskegon.
While the campsites and fire pits are noted to be "fairly close to each other," this proximity might foster a sense of community among campers, although those seeking more secluded sites should be aware of this layout. The availability of "a spot with a concrete slab with a picnic table" is a significant convenience, providing a clean and stable area for setting up camp, preparing meals, and enjoying outdoor dining or grilling.
One area for potential improvement mentioned by a reviewer is the "beach area," which they wished would be fixed up to create a nicer spot for lounging or children to play in the sand. Fisherman's Landing Inc Reviews
Wonderful campground with easy access to Lake Muskegon! Gated campground, felt very safe and family-friendly. We had very pleasant interactions with the staff, very helpful people! They were not selling firewood but they did have ice for sale at the office which was very useful! The campsites & fire pits are fairly close to each other but that’s not the end of the world. We had a spot with a concrete slab with a picnic table, wonderful spot to get set up/eat food or grill out. Great playground for children and a few different patio swings that look over the lake. The landscaping was beautiful but we wish they would fix up their beach area, could make for a nice spot to lay out or have kids play in the sand! Overall we absolutely loved this campground and will be booking more spots for the future!!
Sep 03, 2024 · alyssacaaanflyIncredible place to camp and fish from. I hope the city doesn't close it down.
Apr 27, 2025 · Donald HopperThis is my second time camping here. Once in 2018 and again in 2024. They have really cleaned the park up and it looks amazing. I appreciate the feeling of being safe due to the gated property. It was VERY quiet. I grew up across the street from PJHoffmaster park and it was always so loud. I'm able to stay throughout the week and go to work in the morning feeling well rested because it is so quiet and safe. The bathrooms are immaculate and the grass is very soft and green. I see in the reviews that some people think they can just come here and do whatever they want. The rules are only disliked by people that break them. I am very pleased with my stay here and look forward to coming back. Thank you very much for making my camping experience so great!! I hope to be back soon.
May 29, 2024 · laura mccarthyWe normally camp rustic, but this was a great change. The bike path goes through the park. Easily ride into the downtown area where you can visit local eateries, the farmers market, or the local brew houses. Lov3d watching the local fishing tournaments. Many of them camped in the campground so I was able to show my grandson all of the boats.
Apr 28, 2025 · Mike TullThis was a very nice camp ground but the Lady that runs it is not so nice! My family and I stayed 5 nights. We always stay an extra night so when we take Down and put away our camping gear we don’t have to rush. Mind you check out time was 12:00 noon. We were in the process of tearing down and putting away our camping gear and lost track of time. at 12:05 the lady that owns the place and runs the place was at our campsite at 12:05 with her cell phone showing me that we were five minutes late on leaving when I ask are you really that strict on leaving and she commented back yes we are and I told her we would not be back and she said that was fine with her. I commented back to her. She was going to lose a lot of campers and she said she didn’t care to me somebody that owns a facility like that and treats people that rudely should not be in business just beware.Sign unhappy camper! I would also like to clarify, we understood we were running behind and completely understand the rules and would have had no issues with being talked to about our tardiness. The owner approached us and asked if we knew that check out was at noon and shoved her phone out to us displaying the time. Again we did not mean to depart from the site late and hadno intentions to make the parks employees job any harder than need be. A simple “warning” would have sufficed. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!- side note we have camped here for many years before the new ownership took place and I can confidently say NO…….you are not less strict than other campgrounds and you demonstrated poor ownership and hospitality.
