Sweetwater County Park Reviews
A great place to camp — a family friendly campground. Most sites are full hookup making camping easy. Located just north of Chula Vista / Eastlake area, next to the Sweetwater Reservoir, this campground offers great views without being too far from major stores. Well kept playgrounds, trails and even a splash pad (offered only during summer months). Leashed dogs are welcome, fishing available next door at the Reservoir. Made for a fun 3-day weekend!
Dec 01, 2024 · Tim YargeauOne of my families favorite parks to go to and we have traveled all over the park has amazing views and sunsets 2 beautiful parks also with a splash pad and work out equipment only down fall is you can only stay there 60 days out of the year which really sucks we'd like to go and visit that park more

Mar 02, 2025 · Nomadic Home ServicesThe just common thing I hear about this campground is, "I had no idea this place existed!!" It's a hidden treasure. The rangers are kind and helpful, save one, and there's plenty of shady spots for tent campers. It's mostly peaceful, though Fridays and Saturdays can get a bit busy and loud. Most people are conscientious of other campers and keep to themselves. The spots are pretty close together, but they're adding more as I type this. Most of them on the lower half have trees and bushes to separate spots and provide much welcomed shade. The upper half doesn't have much shade, so it's better for those with RVs and campers than tents. The bathrooms are well kept, cleaned daily (more than once on weekends), and have decent showers. The showers run on tokens, and it takes more than it does as Tijuana River Valley Campground, but they're also superior to the showers at TRC. 2 minutes per token, and tokens are 4/$1.
Nov 02, 2023 · Kimberly CareyLove this place and almost everything about it. Volunteers/staff are awesome and do a tremendously great job with the Rv sites. Not once have I come here and seen it with trash everywhere. They really keep everything up to standard. The rules can be a bit much like usual in Cali. However, if it's a rule, it's because someone has most likely abused the system or couldn't use common sense. I have seen both, so can't be mad at the park for that.
