Jellystone Park™ Golden Valley Reviews
We encountered a couple issues with an overheating golf cart and we weren’t able to use our own water crafts(paddle boards) but the staff was very helpful and willing to make it right. Shout out to Michael Wall for his persistence in finding out intermittent golf cart and personal service of getting us a better one delivered to our door! My son also fell and skinned his knee at the pool (lots of kids running about) & the Man on Deck Frank Ringnalda was so kind in getting him first aid and cheering him up with an ice cream cup. Over all we had a great time dispite a few unexpected moments. It was a sold out weekend in the smokies and the views were incredible.
Apr 20, 2025 · bryan bennettFamily really liked the campground. It's big rig friendly on the far side of the campground. You will probably want to rent a golf cart as it's pretty hilly. There is a lake, fishing, pool with slides, a good camp store, mountain coaster and more.
Apr 22, 2025 · B KThis place is great for children. Don't fo to expect to find a lot to do outside of the campground. If you sat on Sunday the splash pad, store, and food court close at 3 pm. We just got our 2-year-old to the splash pad at the warmest part of the day and they shut it down. The restaurant is not open on Sundays either. So after 3, you are stuck with the park or maybe putt-putt. For an RV resort in the middle of nothing it would be nice to have amenities open Sunday afternoon. If it were near somewhere like Bryson City, Gatlinburg, or Pigeon 5 you could go to dinner without having to drive 35 minutes to another town. There are a lot of kids all over the place and it's not a quiet place.
Apr 29, 2025 · Ron JonWe rarely camp at the same place twice. Our kids love it here. Clean, lots of amenities, huge campground, and friendly staff. Brandon, one of the maintenance guys, came to help air up a low tire on my RV. Checking the others we saw a major defect. He immediately popped the spare on and sent us to a shop that could help us. He was so helpful and friendly. This place is worth the drive from Atlanta!
Apr 13, 2025 · Roger BellThe resort has many fun things to do. The lookout tower and water zipline weren't available due to Hurricane. Aquatics was amazing and a big shout out to Frank the manager and his team. Frank works so hard to make sure everyone is happy and the place is spotless while working on things. He is the heart of the resort making it a stress- free environment without 100 rules. The food and beverages were 10 star! so many fun events for the kids to do. Golf cart rental is a must. We stayed in cabin across from activity center and it was quiet. The cabin was nice and clean. You will need to bring everything you need except toliet paper and paper towels. There are no sheets, pillows, rugs, towels, etc. minimal dishes as far as pots and pans. I would recommend more events for adults and teenagers otherwise it's mostly for kids that need adult supervision. Putting putt was fun and Gem mining. Wibit is great for all. We stayed 2 nights. NC regulations force them to close pools at 7pm. They open pools at 9am and you want to be there early to get a chair or table. That stinks but hopefully it can be changed. There is a shuttle available to/from RV rental place. We had issue with ours inn1st hour we were there but they resolved it for us immediately. Large selection of cabins and other sleeping amenities. Definitely need chalkboard everywhere presenting hours of operation for all places of activities and events (pool, ice cream shop, drink shop, stores and restaurants. Also the gen store needs more grocery options and swimwear. Closest Walmart is about 30 minutes. Overall a great place to camp!
