Based on the available customer reviews, the experience at Lake Hill Campground appears to be somewhat varied. One long-term visitor, who had been staying since April 1st, offered a positive perspective, praising Julie and her husband and brother-in-law for their care of the "sweet little campground." This reviewer highlighted the fair prices and expressed feeling fortunate to have found the location. They specifically mentioned the campground as being a great place for children, encouraging visitors to bring bicycles for the trail located at the bottom of the hill, which is also suitable for jogging. Additionally, they pointed out the proximity to local amenities, recommending the pizza in Frankfort and noting the beauty of the surrounding hardwoods. For those looking to explore further, the renowned Hocking Hills region is mentioned as being within a 20 to 30-minute drive, suggesting a convenient day trip option for nature enthusiasts.
The positive review paints a picture of a family-friendly campground with a welcoming atmosphere and opportunities for recreation, both within the campground itself and in the nearby area. The mention of a bicycle trail caters to those who enjoy cycling or jogging, and the proximity to Frankfort offers access to local dining options. The easy drive to Hocking Hills, a major natural attraction in Ohio, adds significant value for campers looking to explore the region's scenic beauty, including its caves, waterfalls, and hiking trails.
However, it is crucial to consider all feedback to provide an objective introduction. Another recent review presents a starkly contrasting experience. This reviewer expressed strong dissatisfaction, alleging discrepancies between what was promised and what was delivered. The complaint specifically mentions issues with water availability and a failure to receive owed refunds. The reviewer strongly advises others to avoid Lake Hill Campground, citing overcharging and dishonesty as reasons to "find another place anywhere else." This negative feedback raises serious concerns about the reliability of services and the integrity of management practices at the campground.
Given these contrasting accounts, local users considering Lake Hill Campground should approach with caution and perhaps seek further clarification before making a reservation. The positive review suggests a well-maintained, family-oriented campground with friendly management and appealing features like the bicycle trail and proximity to Hocking Hills. The fair pricing mentioned by this reviewer could also be an attractive factor for budget-conscious campers.
On the other hand, the severe allegations in the negative review cannot be ignored. Issues related to essential services like water and financial transactions are significant and could severely impact a camper's experience. The accusations of being overcharged and lied to are also serious and warrant careful consideration. Potential campers might want to inquire specifically about water availability, refund policies, and any additional charges before committing to a stay.
As a "camping near me" option, Lake Hill Campground's location in Frankfort, OH, offers accessibility for local residents. The phone numbers provided allow for direct contact to inquire about current conditions, availability, and policies. It would be advisable for prospective campers to call and ask detailed questions based on the concerns raised in the negative review, such as the reliability of water supply and the campground's refund procedures. They could also inquire about any recent improvements or changes in management that might address the issues raised.
For families with children, the positive mention of the campground being "a great place for kids" and the availability of a bicycle trail could be strong selling points. The proximity to Hocking Hills also makes it a potentially convenient base for exploring the natural wonders of southeastern Ohio. However, the negative feedback regarding service reliability and financial dealings necessitates thorough due diligence from potential visitors.
In conclusion, Lake Hill Campground presents a mixed picture based on the limited available reviews. While one visitor praised its friendly management, fair prices, and family-friendly amenities, another reported a very negative experience involving service issues and financial disputes. Local users searching for "camping near me" in the Frankfort, OH area should weigh these contrasting perspectives carefully. It is strongly recommended to contact the campground directly, ask detailed questions about services and policies, and perhaps seek more recent reviews from other sources to gain a more comprehensive understanding before making a decision to stay at Lake Hill Campground.

Lake Hill Campground Reviews
We have been staying here since April 1. Julie and her husband and brother in law do a good job of caring for that sweet little camp ground. Fair prices and we feel very blessed to have found it. It’s a great place for kids to enjoy a camp ground. Bring the bicycles because there is a trail at the bottom of hill for riding on. Or if you jog. Frankfort has the best pizza. And the hard woods is beautiful. Come enjoy a week this summer with the kids. Hocking hills is a 20 30 min drive from here but worth the day away..
Jan 06, 2025 · Verna HaydenVery bad experience. She says one thing but does another. You won't have water, and she will not return any money owed to you. I advise stay away. My son had a horrible experience. Over charged and lied to. Definitely find another place anywhere else.
Dec 10, 2024 · lena crakerThis is the most peace I have found in a very long time. The owners are welcoming, the lake is beautiful and the campground is so quiet. They have cabins and a laundry facility. This is the peace you are searching for.
Oct 18, 2024 · Angel JayneSecluded, private campground and lake. I was walking on the Tri-County Triangle Trail that is across the road from the campground and took a look around the lake and campground. The lake is a decent size and the campground was clean and seems to be quite popular. I liked the small cabins and would enjoy staying in one in the fall. I'm glad that I hiked up to the campground. You never know what pleasant surprises you might come across.
Jul 06, 2024 · RJDMy husband and I travel for work. We stayed her for about a year and a half. Owners were very accommodating. The campground was always clean and peaceful. Which we loved. It is also located near a paved trail. This was really nice since we have 3 dogs and loved to take them on the trail. We never had any issues. It’s also an hour away from Columbus and about 15 to 20 minutes from Chillicothe. We had a great time staying here.
