Lazy R Campground Introduce
For those in the Bradford, Ohio area looking for "camping near me," Lazy R Campground, located at 8714 US-36, Bradford, OH 45308, USA, presents a local option. However, the customer reviews available paint a contrasting picture, which potential local users should carefully consider when making their choices.
One reviewer recounted a significantly negative experience during a stay from November to mid-February. They mentioned being quoted a nightly rate of $50 without being offered a potentially more economical monthly rate of $500. This suggests a possible lack of transparency regarding pricing options for longer stays. More concerningly, this reviewer stated that the campground "shut off the water supply as well as electricity," resulting in a period with no hook-ups. This would undoubtedly create significant discomfort and inconvenience for campers relying on these utilities, especially during colder months.
Adding to the negative experience, the same reviewer reported instances of theft, stating that "Someone stole things from under our camper.. ladder, saws... blanket kites. Etc..." Furthermore, they claimed that their "batteries and propane tanks were switched out with empty ones nearly everyday." These are serious allegations that raise significant concerns about the security and management of the campground. The reviewer concluded with a strong warning: "HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. DO NOT spend ur money here."
In stark contrast, another reviewer stated, "Have camped her for the last 5 years and have had no problems. Great people and place to stay." This positive feedback over a longer period suggests that some visitors have had satisfactory experiences at Lazy R Campground. The mention of "great people" aligns with the positive aspects often associated with a welcoming camping community.
Given these conflicting accounts, it is challenging to provide a definitive overview of the environment, services, and features without further information or clarification. However, we can attempt to infer some aspects based on typical campgrounds and the feedback provided.
The environment of Lazy R Campground is not explicitly described in these reviews. Typically, campgrounds offer outdoor spaces for parking RVs or pitching tents, often with some natural surroundings. Whether Lazy R Campground is heavily wooded, open, or near specific natural attractions is not mentioned. Local users who prioritize a particular type of environment might need to inquire directly.
In terms of services, we can infer that Lazy R Campground typically offers water and electric hookups, although one reviewer reported these being shut off during their stay. The mention of potential monthly rates suggests that longer-term stays are accommodated. The starkly different experiences reported make it difficult to assess the reliability and quality of these services. The positive reviewer's five years of problem-free camping suggests that under normal circumstances, the basic services might be adequate for some.
Features are also not detailed in the reviews. Most campgrounds offer basic amenities like restrooms and possibly showers, though their condition is not mentioned here. The reported theft raises concerns about security, which would be a crucial feature for any camper. The positive reviewer's comment about it being a "great place to stay" implies that it offers some appealing features, though these are not specified.
There is no explicit promotional information in these reviews. The negative review strongly advises against staying there, while the positive review implicitly promotes it by describing it as a "great place to stay" with "great people." This direct contradiction highlights the importance of considering both perspectives.
For local users considering Lazy R Campground as a "camping near me" option, it is crucial to weigh the significantly negative experience of one reviewer against the positive, long-term experience of another. The issues reported by the negative reviewer, such as utility shutdowns and theft, are serious concerns that should not be overlooked. On the other hand, the positive reviewer's consistent satisfaction suggests that these issues might not be universally experienced or perhaps have been addressed since the negative review was posted (though the timing of the reviews is not provided).
To make an informed decision, local users should contact Lazy R Campground directly at (937) 447-8943 or +1 937-447-8943. Inquiring about their current policies regarding utility services, security measures, and pricing (including potential monthly rates) would be advisable. Asking for recent feedback from other campers might also provide a more up-to-date perspective on the campground's current state and management.
In conclusion, Lazy R Campground in Bradford, OH, has received very contrasting reviews from customers. One long-term camper reports having had no problems and describes it as a great place with great people. However, another recent camper detailed a horrible experience involving utility shutdowns and theft. Local users searching for "camping near me" should be aware of these differing opinions and are strongly encouraged to contact the campground directly to gather more information before making a decision.

Jan 04, 2025 · Scott A EvansNOT for big rigs. Do NOT even bother calling if you have anything more than a 30 ft camper. There's no room and the pull thru spots are super small. They had to remove a fence for us to make a turn with our 38 foot motor home and car hooked up. We ended up having to back into a spot with our car hauler. We only stayed 1 night and we won't be back because we can't fit.
Apr 23, 2024 · reynolds4d1Our tent spot was nicely shaded. My 9-year-old loved the pool. Would have liked firewood to be for sale on site but there was none. Place was pretty quiet the few weeknights we stayed. My boy saw the website and was expecting more activities and excitement each night. Friday had a few other kids and families come out, which made my boy happy. It’s nice that the bike path is accessible from the campground.
