Little Ole Opry Campground Introduce
Looking for "camping near me" in the Jackson, Missouri area? Consider Little Ole Opry Campground, a smaller, family-run campground offering a more traditional and rustic camping experience. Located at 4036 MO-34, Jackson, MO 63755, USA, you can reach them at (573) 979-6212 or their mobile number +1 573-979-6212 for inquiries. Please note, based on recent feedback, it appears they may not have an online reservation system, and reservations might be necessary. A small sign on the building indicates their presence.
Little Ole Opry Campground is described as an "older family run campground," and it seems the management has transitioned, with the original owner having passed away and someone else in the family now managing the property. This suggests a personal touch and a potentially more laid-back atmosphere. The campground itself is relatively small, with "maybe 15 sites," which could appeal to those seeking a less crowded camping environment.
One of the notable features of Little Ole Opry Campground is that "several sites back up to a large pond which is bordered by a wide swath of grass which have picnic tables." These "pond-front" sites offer a pleasant view and easy access to the pond, along with the convenience of nearby picnic tables. A "line of trees along these 'pond-front' sites" provides some shade and a touch of natural beauty to these locations. The campsites themselves on the pond-front are described as having a "raised gravel pad which is pretty level," which is beneficial for setting up tents or parking RVs.
The overall grounds of Little Ole Opry Campground are grassy and "nicely mowed," indicating a level of care in maintaining the appearance. There is a "bath house" available for campers; however, it is described as "quite rustic" although "clean." This suggests that while the facilities are functional and maintained in terms of cleanliness, they may be older and lack some of the modern amenities found in newer campgrounds. For those who prioritize a more natural and less developed camping experience, this might not be a drawback.
One reviewer mentioned that they "would definitely stay here again & highly recommend it," which speaks positively to their overall experience despite the rustic nature of some facilities. This suggests that the charm and other aspects of the campground outweigh any perceived shortcomings in terms of modern amenities.
It's worth noting that there is "some road noise from Hwy 34," given the campground's location. This is something to consider for those particularly sensitive to noise. However, another camper reported "excellent coverage" using an AT&T hotspot and also noted having 3 bars of cellular service without the hotspot, which is a plus for those who need to stay connected.
In terms of services and features, Little Ole Opry Campground offers:
- Pond-front campsites with picnic tables
- Raised gravel pads on some sites
- Grassy and mowed grounds
- A rustic but clean bath house
- Potentially good cellular service (AT&T reported)
Based on the available information, Little Ole Opry Campground offers a quieter, more traditional camping experience with the appeal of pond-front sites. It's ideal for those who appreciate a rustic setting and don't necessarily require all the modern conveniences of larger campgrounds. While there's no mention of specific promotional offers, the positive recommendation from a visitor suggests a pleasant stay. If you're looking for a smaller, family-run campground in the "camping near me" category near Jackson, MO, Little Ole Opry Campground could be a good fit. Given the lack of an online reservation system mentioned in a review, it might be best to call ahead to inquire about availability and make a reservation to avoid any inconvenience upon arrival.
To summarize, Little Ole Opry Campground provides a unique camping experience characterized by its small size, family-run atmosphere, and scenic pond-front sites. While the facilities might be rustic, the positive feedback suggests a welcoming environment. Remember to call ahead for reservations. Consider Little Ole Opry Campground for a peaceful and more traditional "camping near me" adventure in Southeast Missouri.

Little Ole Opry Campground Reviews
No mention of need for reservation online. Small sign on building. Liked site offered to pay when I saw land operator, but was told in a very curt and snide way I would have to leave the property for not having a reservation.
