May Creek Cabin

Wisdom, MT 59761, USA

5.0
Beautiful but the trail is overgrown and there's lots of downed timber to climb through. If not experienced with backcountry travel it might be better to find one you can drive to. We thought it was great. That review is 3 years old. Update: Returned after the fire and the trail is actually better now than it was before the burn. Cabin in excellent shape and well equipped. Code does not work for the woodshed so be prepared for that. Bring some newspapers or cardboard to help light fires. - Dwayne Mogren

While the trail to the cabin has seen improvements since a past fire, it still involves some downed trees to navigate and potentially overgrown spots, requiring a degree of physical fitness and backcountry awareness. Lighting is provided by both battery and propane canister lanterns. A dish pan is available for washing dishes, as there is no sink in the cabin. Other amenities include an island dining table with unique branch supports and bench seats, clotheslines with hangers for drying clothes, and curtains on two of the windows for privacy.
