New management has their act together, The only negative is that the rent increase not really worth it. I know it's because of the 100,000 dollars spent to fix previous management's blatant neglect, but rent at 450 + utilities and fees bringing it up to approx 500/month x 200 (which is lowballing the population here), just that's an annual income of 1 million. Given these numbers, this rent increase is insane for us - especially considering we will definitely have future increases as well once the park is well kept and renovated again. While I do respect everyone fixing the park, I feel it isn't being respected or acknowledged that there was a park to "save" because we the community have lived in squallor and neglect for so long only to be burdened with the financial brunt of decisions to finally use our rent for what we were giving it for. We shouldn't be burdened financially with this as we have BEEN paying and trying to get management to fix this place again. The older residents who haven't contributed to issues should have their rent set at a lower rate with utilities included and new people should get higher rates. Fines alone should take on the brunt of making those numbers feasible especially with the constant noise issues. I do hope management takes this to heart because what's stopping people from renting or just moving and purchasing land and spending that 500 on land payments at this point? Please consider the implications of these numbers for your establishment.Old review:They're fixing the park and making it a livable, safe space again. Minus one ☆ for the frequent noise issues (literally at all hours) and the big bumps in rent and utilities , but even with that, this place got *so* much better this past year. Thank you so much for taking care of the park!Proper management makes the drastic rent increase somewhat worth it, but the market rate of both monthly rates here and buying a plot of land are equivalent after a down payment. - sdkdjdjd sjjddjsj

Summerwood Mobile Home Park Introduce

While our platform primarily focuses on connecting users with "RV parks near me" for temporary accommodations, it's also important to provide information about long-term residential options within the local community. Summerwood Mobile Home Park, located at 3201 Kaliste Saloom Rd in Lafayette, LA 70508, is a mobile home park currently undergoing significant renovations under new management. Based on recent customer reviews, the park is showing promising signs of improvement, although these changes have come with associated rent increases that are a point of discussion among residents.

Several reviews highlight the positive impact of the new management team. One reviewer explicitly states that the "New management has their act together," indicating a significant improvement in the park's operation and upkeep compared to previous management. Another review echoes this sentiment, noting that the park is being fixed and transformed into a "livable, safe space again." This suggests that the new management is actively addressing past neglect and working towards creating a more desirable living environment for the residents.

The significant investment being made in the park is also acknowledged. One reviewer mentions that "$100,000 dollars spent to fix previous management's blatant neglect" is the reason behind the rent increase. This substantial financial commitment underscores the seriousness of the new management's efforts to rehabilitate the property and bring it up to a higher standard. Residents are witnessing tangible improvements as a result of this investment.

However, the positive changes are accompanied by a notable concern among residents: a significant increase in rent. One detailed review expresses this concern, stating that while proper management makes the drastic rent increase "somewhat worth it," the overall cost, including utilities and fees, is approaching $500 per month. The reviewer questions the value proposition, especially when compared to the cost of purchasing land in the area. This suggests that while residents appreciate the improvements, the financial burden is a significant consideration.

Another reviewer who acknowledges the park becoming "so much better this past year" still points out the "big bumps in rent and utilities" as a negative aspect. This indicates a general awareness and appreciation for the improvements being made but also a sensitivity to the increased cost of living in the park. The sentiment suggests a trade-off where the enhanced living conditions come at a higher price.

One resident who lived in the park from 1975 to 1984 shares nostalgic memories, indicating that Summerwood Mobile Home Park has a history within the community. This long-standing presence suggests that it has been a residential option for many years, and the current efforts to revitalize it are significant for both long-term and newer residents.

In addition to the rent increases, one reviewer from the past also noted "frequent noise issues (literally at all hours)" as a concern. While a more recent review mentions the park becoming a "peaceful neighborhood," this past issue highlights a potential area that management may need to continue to address to ensure a comfortable living environment for all residents.

The detailed review urging management to consider the financial implications of the rent increase suggests a community of residents who are invested in the park's success but are also feeling the strain of the increased costs. The reviewer proposes potential solutions, such as tiered rent structures for long-term residents and leveraging fines for noise issues to offset costs. This indicates a desire for a fair and sustainable approach to the park's revitalization.

Despite the concerns about rent increases, the overall narrative from the reviews suggests that Summerwood Mobile Home Park is on a positive trajectory under new management. The active efforts to fix past neglect and create a safer, more livable space are being acknowledged and appreciated by the residents. The investment in renovations indicates a commitment to the long-term improvement of the community.

For local users seeking a long-term residential option in Lafayette, Summerwood Mobile Home Park presents a community undergoing a significant transformation. While the cost of living has increased due to these improvements, the potential for a well-maintained and safer living environment is also growing. Prospective residents will need to weigh the benefits of the ongoing renovations against the increased rental costs and consider their individual financial situations.
