59er Motel & Campground Introduce
For local users seeking "camping near me" options in Shenandoah, Iowa, the 59er Motel & Campground, located at 2007 US-59, presents a unique combination of lodging choices. Unlike campgrounds that exclusively offer campsites, the 59er Motel & Campground provides both motel rooms and camping facilities, catering to a broader range of accommodation preferences. While the available reviews primarily focus on the motel aspect of the establishment, they offer some insights into the management and overall experience, which can be relevant for potential campground users as well.
The reviews highlight a "Lovely lady running the place," suggesting a friendly and welcoming management style. Positive interactions with staff can significantly enhance a guest's stay, whether they are utilizing the motel or the campground facilities. This personal touch often found in family-owned establishments can contribute to a more pleasant and accommodating environment. The mention of a "family owned establishment" further supports this notion of a potentially more personalized and caring service.
One reviewer specifically mentioned "Fair monthly rates," although this comment was made in the context of a motel stay. This suggests that the 59er Motel & Campground aims to provide reasonably priced options for both short-term and potentially longer-term stays, which could extend to their campground rates as well. Local users seeking an extended "camping near me" solution might find the 59er Motel & Campground worth inquiring about for potential monthly rates for campsites, if offered.
The availability of "decent" internet access is another mentioned feature. In today's connected world, reliable internet can be a significant amenity for many travelers and campers, allowing them to stay in touch, plan their activities, or even work remotely. The fact that internet is provided and considered "decent" suggests that this is a service offered to guests, which could potentially extend to those staying at the campground as well, depending on the coverage area.
While the reviews primarily discuss the motel rooms, some aspects can be inferred as potentially relevant to the campground. For instance, the mention of "fair prices" in general suggests that the establishment aims to offer value for money, which could be reflected in their campground rates as well. The fact that the motel seems "pretty clean otherwise" (despite a reported smell in one room) indicates a general standard of cleanliness that might also be maintained in the campground facilities, such as restrooms or any communal areas.
However, it is crucial to acknowledge that the provided reviews do not offer direct insights into the environment, specific services, or features of the campground itself. Therefore, local users interested in the "camping near me" aspect of the 59er Motel & Campground will need to seek additional information to understand what the camping facilities entail.
Key information that is currently missing and would be essential for potential campground users includes:
- **Types of campsites available:** Are there tent sites, RV sites with hookups (electric, water, sewer), or both? What are the sizes and configurations of the sites?
- **Amenities offered at the campground:** Are there restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, picnic tables, fire pits, or other conveniences? What is the condition and accessibility of these amenities?
- **Environment of the campground:** Is it located in a grassy area, wooded area, or gravel lot? What is the level of shade and privacy between campsites?
- **Recreational opportunities:** Are there any specific recreational facilities or activities offered at the campground or nearby?
- **Campground rates:** What are the daily, weekly, or monthly rates for the campsites? Are there different rates for different types of sites or services?
- **Reservation procedures:** How are campsite reservations handled? Is it first-come, first-served, or are advance bookings accepted?
- **Rules and regulations specific to the campground:** Are there any specific rules that campers need to adhere to?
- **Pet policy:** Are pets allowed in the campground, and if so, are there any restrictions or fees?
- **Accessibility of the campground:** Are the campsites and facilities accessible to individuals with mobility challenges?
- **Noise levels:** Given the proximity to a motel and US-59, what is the typical noise level in the campground area?
Given the limited direct information about the campground, local users are strongly encouraged to contact the 59er Motel & Campground directly at (712) 246-2925 or +1 712-246-2925 to obtain detailed information about their camping facilities. Asking specific questions about the points listed above will help potential campers determine if this location meets their needs for a "camping near me" experience.
It is possible that the campground serves as a more basic option for travelers passing through or those seeking a no-frills camping experience, especially given its association with a motel. However, without direct information, this remains speculative. The positive comments about the management and fair rates associated with the motel suggest a potentially well-run establishment overall, which could extend to their campground operations as well.
In conclusion, the 59er Motel & Campground in Shenandoah, Iowa, offers a combined lodging option for travelers and local users seeking "camping near me." While reviews highlight friendly management, fair rates (for the motel), and decent internet access, specific details about the campground environment, services, and features are not provided. Potential campers should contact the establishment directly to inquire about campsite availability, amenities, rates, and any other relevant information to make an informed decision about their stay.

59er Motel & Campground Reviews
Lovely lady running the place. Fair monthly rates and all around great stay. Internet is decent as well.
Jul 10, 2024 · Justin VasauneRoom was huge. Had 3 beds but all of them need new mattresses. My room smelled a bit funny but seemed pretty clean otherwise. Fair prices family owned establishment. Good for a basic motel stay.
May 23, 2018 · Brian PI can only rate the RV park as I haven't been in the motel. First off, it is half a mile to the north and on the other side of the road from the symbol in Google maps. The sites are helter skelter among several old buildings and not very level. The electrical, water and sewer hookups work. There is a dump station on the grounds. The host is easy to work with. It is reasonably well kept but not exceptional. Lanes are fine gravel over bituminous with muddy spots when it rains and this tends to get tracked inside. The price is right. The grounds are shady with lots of trees, but a bit exposed to the north wind. There is an ice cream/burger/hot dog stand that is open during the warmer months.
May 28, 2021 · Leonard BaergProbably the best deal in the area for either nightly stays or long stays. Several small hotel rooms, a large, multi room flat that sleeps 10 people (all on beds) and a small campground in the back, the 59er is rustic without being run down and is operated and occupied by very nice people. Next door is an outdoor ice cream parlor with good food. The only negative on the whole place is that ths wifi is sketchy at best. Fast enough when it works but drops out constantly. Overall a great place for the money!
Jul 08, 2019 · Scott McKenzieThe lady here will work with u for sure. I ended up getting a super huge room with 3 beds for the price of a single room. Lacks bathtub but makes up for it in service and flexibility.
