Dammann Oaks Campground Introduce
For local users in Iowa searching for "camping near me" in a beautiful, peaceful, and accommodating setting, Dammann Oaks Campground, located at 1980 Hickory Ave, Shenandoah, IA 51601, USA, appears to be an excellent choice based on recent customer reviews. This introduction will detail the environment, services, and features of Dammann Oaks Campground as described by visitors, providing valuable information for local users considering a stay.
The environment of Dammann Oaks Campground is consistently highlighted for its beauty and tranquility. One reviewer described the location as "beautiful, peaceful, and quiet," suggesting a serene atmosphere ideal for relaxation and a break from the everyday. The presence of a "gorgeous pond" is a significant environmental feature, enhancing the scenic appeal and potentially offering opportunities for leisurely activities or simply enjoying the waterfront views. The pond also seems to attract wildlife, as indicated by the reviewer who stayed in the cabin and enjoyed the surroundings during the fall and spring. The open space around the cabin, described as a "perfect back yard," suggests that the campground offers spacious areas for recreation and enjoyment of the outdoors.
The campground offers various accommodation options, including traditional camping sites and a "little cabin" available for rent. The reviewer who stayed in the cabin from September to April noted the beauty of the fall and spring seasons, particularly with the pond, and appreciated the safe environment. For those utilizing the traditional camping sites, one reviewer noted that "the sites are a little different; buddy back in so you're sharing water and power." This "buddy back in" arrangement implies that campsites are positioned in a way that two RVs or campers might share a central utility hookup point. While this might require coordination with neighboring campers, it is a functional setup that provides essential services. It's important for potential campers to understand this configuration when making reservations or setting up their sites.
Beyond the basic camping amenities, Dammann Oaks Campground offers several recreational features that enhance the overall experience. The presence of a "tire swing for kids" suggests a family-friendly environment with activities to keep children entertained. A "sand volleyball court" provides an opportunity for friendly competition and outdoor exercise for guests of all ages. Additionally, "horseshoes" are available, offering another classic campground pastime for leisurely enjoyment.

Dammann Oaks Campground Reviews
My family and I rented out the little cabin on the property from September- April. Winter was cold! But the fall and spring is beautiful especially with the pond. We had the perfect back yard to play in with our baby and dogs. We always felt safe too. Terry the owner is a nice man who is very accommodating. The location is beautiful, peaceful, and quiet.
Apr 12, 2024 · Lily HaslockVery beautiful campground! The sites are a little different; buddy back in so you're sharing water and power. But the pond is gorgeous, tire swing for kids, sand volleyball court and horseshoes. Overall, a very nice campground.
May 11, 2023 · McKenna JonesThis was our first campground as RV owners and it was the best experience so far! Campground is secluded with a huge pond. Some sites have full hookups but there is a dump site. The owner is super nice and helpful and the area just gives off good, safe vibes! I already miss it!

The owner was always checking on us to make sure we were ok and had enough heat and propane.💜❤️💜Also multiple times the owner and his neighbor pulled us and the other workers out when we got stuck in a pile of snow 💜❤️💜.Breathtaking view.Great price and great people loved staying here. Hope we get a chance to visit again.
