Crescent Regional Recreation Property

Near Tabbyune Creek, US-6, Helper, UT 84526, USA

4.0
What a beautiful place with so much potential. We took 150 girls there for 5 days planning on showers, water, 2 fridges, and a great place to have girls camp. The camp is pretty but there are down trees everywhere and plenty of firewood all over the place. Our experience was extremely unfortunate due to the man in charge of our camp. A pump went out weeks before that he said would be repaired multiple times. No water for 150 yw, no showers, no toilets. They provided 4 porta potties that were filled in 2 days. He promised more that never showed up, he quit taking our calls when we called for updates, the pump was never fixed so we hauled water all week. No follow up even after stake leaders called and he promised a follow up text or call the next day to update. Beautiful part of the earth, couldn’t believe what we were told by the guy in charge up the camp. Really difficult to know what to plan on when you can’t trust those in charge. Beautiful place, horrible review because of the individual in charge. Still haven’t heard back. Toughed it out and our girls and leaders were amazing. Hope no one else is put in this type of situation. Planning ahead would have been easy had we known. - Jentry Lima

Crescent Regional Recreation Property Introduce

Are you searching for "camping near me" in the scenic landscapes of Utah, specifically in the vicinity of Helper? Consider Crescent Regional Recreation Property, located near Tabbyune Creek off US-6, Helper, UT 84526, USA. Based on recent feedback from campers, this property offers a beautiful natural setting with significant potential for a memorable outdoor experience. However, it's crucial for prospective visitors to be aware of some critical issues raised in the reviews regarding the reliability of promised amenities and the management of the facilities.

Crescent Regional Recreation Property is situated in a part of Utah known for its natural beauty. One reviewer described it as "a beautiful place with so much potential" and "a beautiful part of the earth." The presence of "down trees everywhere and plenty of firewood all over the place" suggests a natural, possibly wooded environment, which can be appealing to those seeking a rustic camping experience. The proximity to Tabbyune Creek further hints at a potentially picturesque setting with the sounds and sights of flowing water.

The property seems to offer different camping areas, with one reviewer specifically mentioning "campground 4" as "the best of the lot." This suggests that there might be variations in the amenities and quality across different sections of the recreation property. It's also noted that "roads are narrow in spots," indicating that caution might be needed when navigating the property, especially with larger vehicles and when encountering oncoming traffic.

In terms of services and features, the information gathered from the reviews presents a mixed picture. One large group (150 girls) had significant expectations based on what they were told to anticipate, including "showers, water, 2 fridges, and a great place to have girls camp." While the property itself was deemed "pretty," their experience was severely hampered by the failure of a water pump "weeks before" their arrival, which was reportedly promised to be repaired multiple times but never was. This resulted in a complete lack of water for the large group, rendering the showers and toilets unusable. The provision of only four porta potties, which filled within two days, further compounded the sanitation issues. The reviewer also stated that promised additional porta potties never materialized, and the person in charge stopped returning their calls for updates. Ultimately, the group had to haul water for the entire five-day camp.

This experience highlights a significant potential issue with the reliability of essential services and the management's communication and follow-through. The reviewer expressed extreme disappointment due to the discrepancy between what was promised and the reality they faced, making it "really difficult to know what to plan on when you can’t trust those in charge." This paints a concerning picture for any group or individual relying on the advertised or promised amenities.

On a more positive note, a different reviewer who stayed at "campground 4" mentioned that "some camping areas have showers, flush toilets, pavilion, propane fridges." This indicates that at least some parts of the Crescent Regional Recreation Property are equipped with these desirable amenities. The fact that another "spot has privy" suggests a variation in the level of facilities available across the property, with some areas being more rustic than others. The presence of a "pavilion" could be beneficial for group gatherings or providing a sheltered space.

A notable feature mentioned by the second reviewer is a "pond" with "a number of canoes and paddles." This suggests a recreational opportunity for visitors who enjoy being on the water. Canoeing can be a fantastic way to explore the pond and enjoy the natural surroundings, adding a significant attraction for those interested in water-based activities.

Considering the conflicting experiences, it's difficult to provide a straightforward assessment of the services and features across the entire Crescent Regional Recreation Property. While some areas seem to offer amenities like showers, flush toilets, fridges, and canoes, the experience of the large group indicates that the availability and reliability of essential services, particularly water, can be a major concern. The management's responsiveness and communication also appear to be problematic based on the detailed negative review.

There is no explicit promotional information provided in the reviews. However, the mention of a "beautiful place" with a pond and canoes could be seen as highlighting some of the natural and recreational attractions of the property. The potential for showers, flush toilets, and fridges in some camping areas might also be considered a draw for those seeking more comfort than basic camping.

For local users considering "camping near me" at Crescent Regional Recreation Property, it is crucial to approach with caution and do thorough research and direct communication with the management. The stark contrast between the potential amenities and the severe lack of essential services experienced by the large group raises serious red flags. Potential visitors should inquire specifically about the current status and reliability of water sources, restroom facilities, and any other amenities they plan to rely on. It would also be wise to seek assurances regarding management communication and support, especially for group bookings.

The fact that there are different campgrounds within the property suggests that experiences might vary depending on the specific area booked. If possible, obtaining more detailed information about the amenities available at each campground and recent conditions would be highly advisable. The presence of narrow roads also warrants consideration for those with larger vehicles.

In conclusion, Crescent Regional Recreation Property near Helper, UT, offers a beautiful natural environment with potential amenities such as showers, flush toilets, fridges, a pavilion, and a pond with canoes. However, significant concerns have been raised regarding the reliability of essential services, particularly water, and the responsiveness of the management. Local users searching for "camping near me" should weigh the potential of the location against the reported serious issues and ensure they have up-to-date and reliable information before making a booking. Direct communication with the property management is strongly recommended to ascertain the current conditions and the availability of promised amenities to avoid the kind of severely negative experience reported by one large group.
