Environment and Scenery:
The primary environmental highlight of Delaware River Campground is its location along the Delaware River. This offers campers the opportunity to secure tent sites directly on the riverbank, providing scenic views and easy access to the water. The natural beauty of the Delaware River and its surroundings is likely a significant draw for visitors. The campground appears to be an open area, allowing for a flexible layout, especially for groups wishing to camp together.
Services and Facilities:
Based on the customer reviews, the services and facilities at Delaware River Campground include:
- Riverfront Tent Sites: One of the most appealing features is the availability of tent sites located right on the Delaware River.
- Open Layout for Group Camping: The campground offers an open layout in at least some areas, making it easy for groups to combine campsites and create a shared space. This is particularly beneficial for events like barbecue competitions or gatherings of friends.
- Pet-Friendly: One reviewer mentioned bringing their dog, suggesting that the campground is pet-friendly, although specific rules regarding pets (e.g., leash requirements, allowed areas) are not detailed.
- Bathroom and Shower Facilities: The campground provides bathrooms and showers for guests. However, one review raised concerns about the frequency of cleaning and the overall condition of these facilities, describing the showers as "questionable."
The reviews do not provide information about other common campground amenities such as electric hookups, water access at individual sites, fire pits, picnic tables, or on-site stores. The focus is primarily on the campsite layout and the basic restroom facilities.
Features and Activities:
The features and potential activities at Delaware River Campground are largely tied to its natural location and layout:

The riverfront tent sites are another significant draw for those seeking a scenic camping experience. However, potential visitors should be aware of the concerns raised in the other review regarding noise levels, particularly from trailer areas, and the condition of the bathroom facilities. These aspects might be important considerations for those prioritizing a quiet and clean camping environment.
Why Choose Delaware River Campground for "Camping Near Me"?
Delaware River Campground could be a suitable choice for "camping near me" if you are specifically looking for a campsite right on the Delaware River or if you are planning a group camping trip or social gathering that would benefit from an open layout allowing combined campsites. The scenic riverfront locations are undoubtedly a major attraction. However, potential campers should be aware of the possibility of noise issues, particularly from neighboring trailer areas, especially if seeking a peaceful night's sleep. Additionally, the reported condition of the bathroom and shower facilities might be a concern for some. If the primary focus is on river access and a social camping experience with a group, and you are prepared for potential noise and possibly less-than-ideal bathroom conditions, Delaware River Campground could be a viable option. It is advisable to inquire directly with the campground management about their policies on noise and the upkeep of facilities before making a reservation to ensure it meets your expectations for "camping near me."

Delaware River Campground Reviews
I didn’t intend to write a review for my visit with another couple in July 2024. However, after reading about other similar experiences, I felt the need to. My best friend and I aren’t the biggest campers but decided to have a whirl at it. Her bf scheduled us four a tent site (along with our dog) and it was right on the river-so nice! However the neighboring sites are right next to you, so we parked our cars in a way to try and give us some form of privacy. Reader beware- if you like sleep, good luck. I couldn’t fall asleep until probably 4am (my dog included) bc there was music blasting from the trailer areas (ppl yelling/partying, dogs barking, etc). Bathrooms are def not cleaned often, and the showers are questionable. Overall, we made it the best experience we could but probably will try another campground in the future
Dec 01, 2024 · Gena HartmanWe visited this campground for a competition barbecue weekend, and it was a fantastic experience! The campsites were nice and flat, which is a big deal for us. The open layout of our area made it easy to combine spots with our friends from Arkansas, so we could all enjoy one big shared space. We had an absolute blast, and the setup was perfect for a fun, social weekend. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to camp with friends or host a gathering!
Oct 31, 2024 · Karryl BoggsDid some research and came across Delaware water gap campground. Well, they did not disappoint! I usually have no expectations, I was so wowed on how organized the grounds are. I think the most important part was they provide a very secure and safe place where people can enjoy themselves, make friends, and the kids run around. It’s so serene and relaxing. On our arrival with our RV, we checked in at the desk and quickly we were off to our spot. A picnic table & steel firewood ring. You can purchase wood at the front desk amongst other items for camping. The day we arrived there was so much activities, nephews quickly joined a slime/pumpkin class, afterwards we got ready for a hay ride around the grounds, campsites were decorated for Halloween and all the kids went trick-or-treating. We did some karaoke at the end of the night. Our next day, we did some fishing & Arch throwing, while my other nephew played basketball and volleyball with friends he met. We also went down the road to the market to purchase fresh produce, and yummy donuts. At night time we did a communal bonfire and watched an outdoor movie. Third & final day, we hit up the heated pool! There are so many other things that the grounds offer you can only do so much. I’m bummed because I heard food network will be here next week hosting a BBQ contest!! Thank you guys for the experience!
Oct 17, 2024 · Cathy RiccobonoFirst and last time that my family will ever come to these campgrounds. We went this Labor Day weekend and came back a day early. The crowd was to be expected but the proximity of camp sites next to one another was so undesirable. Our camp site (E12) to be honest had no business being a site. It had minimal flat space and went into a dip. We have been to plenty of campsites and this is the first time we've experienced such overcrowding. The bathrooms and showers were dirty. With so much foot traffic, there should be more attendants cleaning on a regular basis. And let's talk about the noise. At one point at 10 o'clock at night we had 4 different types of music blasting at the same time. There are signs every where stating no loud music but no one listens and no staff enforce it. I will say that at 11:30 when I called to complain an attendant did come out quickly and told the one site left playing the music to shut it off. Quiet hours start at 11pm but it was well into 1:30 in the morning that people were still shouting and carrying on. It definitely wasn't family friendly and my kids could not sleep.
Sep 01, 2024 · Sara SotoThis is a beautiful setting right on the river so maintain your own campsite and be respectful of others. It's bear season so keep a flash light on you after dark!!!!We love the location by the river and the access to the clean and maintained pool. We just wish there was access to wifi 😭 bring your dog or cat..but always on a leash of course to protect your animal and the others on the campground. We have been here since last month and since the new owners took over I think things will and are starting to get better!! Keep up the hard work you do!! I am also editing this review and thanking Pam for making me aware of the new Wifi they added to the facility.
