Mar 02, 2025 · Cynthia DemmerWe had the best time here! It’s the perfect place for a peaceful day enjoying quiet and nature. The scenery was just beautiful! We hiked the summit trail and enjoyed it very much! I would recommend that trail for ages 9 and up.We stayed in shelter 4. It was very basic with no electricity, but it was nice, clean and simple. There is a picnic table outside and an area for a fire. We are definitely planning to come back again. I imagine it will be gorgeous in the fall on a cool crisp day. Sep 17, 2024 · MoudatsosTerrible Experience - Discriminatory BehaviorIf you’re Asian, be extremely cautious when visiting this place, especially if the tall, long-haired older male staff member is still working there. His blatantly racist behavior was shocking and humiliating.During a previous visit, this man proudly mentioned calling the police on an Asian person. During our most recent visit, he yelled at us, “Get out! Leave now!” while locking the door and refusing to assist us. He shouted so loudly that it could be heard from outside, closed the curtains, and left us standing in the cold. We had recently moved, so my husband’s driver’s license showed our old address, and he gave the new address. The staff member didn’t give him a chance to explain, turned red in the face, and immediately started yelling at my husband. This is no excuse for such behavior. Later, he immediately welcomed a group of white men while continuing to ignore us.When I politely tried to approach the office, he slammed the door, nearly injuring my hand. His actions were reckless, humiliating, and clearly racially motivated. The police had to intervene to help us check in, visibly embarrassed by his actions. They even provided information on how to file a formal complaint. We’ve also heard complaints about him a lot from our large camping community. This establishment must address such unacceptable and discriminatory behavior.
Dec 21, 2024 · Clara BangThis campground is very clean and heavily wooded. The staff is pleasant and helpful. They sell firewood and at time of this post, $7 a bundle. The sites are close together, but there's some trees in between to give some privacy. The bathrooms are pit toilets, but in a clean and nice bathhouse. They do have showers that are push button with warm water. Poison Ivy is everywhere so be very attentive of where you step and how you put up your tent/tarps. They have small hikes within the campground that were decent and one had great scenic views. They allow dogs on some sites and some sites are also walk in so be mindful of which you chose if you don't want to walk everything in to the site.
Aug 18, 2019 · Tracey NWe love it here. It's easy, convenient, and good space between campsites. A few trails and easy to access facilities make for a nice stay. I love their group sites and hear good things about the cabins as well. Definitely want to check out the conservatory on site next time as well.
