Dunewood Campground Reviews
Camp ground is very peaceful and not crowded in April. Bathroom and shower are very clean. Camp hosts Jeff and Tom are very friendly! Recommend and will definitely return.
Apr 06, 2025 · Crystal DingOur 2nd trip in a few years, was happy with the upgrades made to the campground (filtered water dispenser, new steps, etc). Front desk lady was extremely helpful. These campgrounds are generally quiet during the weekdays. Very buggy at this time of the year so bring bug spray, make campfire and memories! Lots of interesting wildlife spotted; I can see why it's popular to "bird" here.
Aug 15, 2024 · emm deeI have been camping here 27 years and this is one of my favorite campsites. I have spent hundreds of nights camping here. It is very clean and cleaned daily. It is safe with staff and Rangers making the rounds a couple times a day. The location is great you can walk to the beach, liquor store, restaurant, gas station, pizza truck, and camp store. The sites are spacious and private for this part of the State. The cons is sometimes you can hear the highway but usually the frogs drown out that noise. The marsh down the road produces a lot of mosquitos and they can get pretty bad if you don't come prepared. There are ticks and black widows. Don't venture off the trails and don't pick up dead wood and its not a problem. There is a train that does pass multiple times day and night. I find the sound soothing while some people are annoyed by it. Overall this is the best this area has to offer compared to others campsites I have visited in a 2-3 hour radius.
Mar 25, 2025 · Edvinas GalcenkoWas an alright place. The bathrooms and showers were clean with hot waterThe camp spaces were spaced apart nicely to provide decent privacy. The campground has a small grocer, liquor, and beach goods store. It's not too far from the beach, but then you have to drive a ways to find the public parking.
May 24, 2024 · Nathan PowersNice campground. The sites have a decent amount of space between them and a lot of natural that screens the sites off. The bathrooms were clean and there are private shower rooms with abundant hot water. If not for the trains going by every 30 minutes, it would be even better.
