Looking for "camping near me" that offers a unique resort-style experience? Arrowhead Lakes Resort, situated at 14296 Cemetery Rd, Wapakoneta, OH 45895, USA, presents a membership-based camping option in the Ohio landscape. You can reach them at (989) 671-1125 or via mobile at +1 989-671-1125 to inquire about membership and what this resort has to offer.
Based on the available information, understanding the environment of Arrowhead Lakes Resort requires piecing together clues from the provided reviews. One reviewer mentions hoping the campground looks as good as the pictures this year and notes that one picture appears to be from an old campground at Indian Lake. This suggests that the resort may emphasize its visual appeal, potentially showcasing scenic areas, possibly including lake or water features given the name "Lakes Resort." The reference to Indian Lake, while potentially a point of confusion regarding marketing materials, hints at the general type of environment one might expect – likely involving water access or proximity to lakes, contributing to a recreational atmosphere. The mention of "over needed maintenance" suggests that the resort is working towards improving its physical environment and upkeep.
The second review explicitly states, "The facilities are being redone from tornado damage and will be very nice when done." This is a crucial piece of information regarding the current state and future potential of the resort's services and features. While the full extent of the facilities is not detailed, we can infer some common amenities expected at a resort-style campground:
- Accommodation Options: As a campground, Arrowhead Lakes Resort likely offers various types of campsites, potentially including RV sites with full hookups (water, electricity, sewer), tent camping areas, and possibly cabin or other rental units. The nature of a "resort" might imply a higher standard of amenities and potentially more spacious or well-appointed sites.
- Recreational Amenities: A resort typically boasts a range of recreational facilities. Given the name, water-related activities are likely a significant feature, possibly including lakes for boating, fishing, and swimming, as well as potential amenities like docks, boat ramps, or swimming beaches. Other resort-style amenities could include a swimming pool, sports courts (basketball, volleyball, etc.), playgrounds, mini-golf, or organized activities and events.
- Essential Facilities: Basic necessities such as restrooms with showers and laundry facilities are expected. A resort might also offer additional conveniences like a camp store, a clubhouse or gathering area, and possibly Wi-Fi access.
The ongoing renovations due to tornado damage indicate that some of these facilities might currently be under construction or not fully operational. It is essential for prospective members to inquire about the status of these renovations and the availability of specific amenities.
A key feature of Arrowhead Lakes Resort, as highlighted by one of the reviews, is its "membership only" structure. This is a significant aspect that differentiates it from public campgrounds. Membership-based resorts often offer exclusive access to their facilities and a sense of community among members. The sales tour mentioned suggests that prospective members need to go through a process to understand the benefits and costs associated with joining. The value proposition of a membership campground typically includes access to well-maintained facilities, a range of amenities, and potentially reciprocal access to other affiliated resorts, although this is not mentioned in the provided text.
The review also notes that the salesman, Rob, was "very nice," indicating a positive aspect of the sales and introductory process. This personal touch can be important for individuals considering a membership commitment.
Regarding promotional information, none is explicitly provided in the reviews. Membership-based resorts often have specific enrollment fees, annual dues, and potentially different tiers of membership with varying benefits. To understand any current promotional offers or incentives for new members, interested individuals would need to contact Arrowhead Lakes Resort directly or go through their sales process. Inquiring about the costs associated with membership, the benefits included, and any limited-time offers is crucial for those considering joining.
The first review expresses a desire for the campground to match the quality depicted in its pictures and hopes for necessary maintenance to be completed. This suggests that while the reviewer enjoys visiting Arrowhead, there might have been some discrepancies between expectations set by marketing materials and the actual condition of the campground. The mention of a picture from an old campground at Indian Lake raises a point about the accuracy of promotional materials. However, the reviewer also states, "Arrowhead is a great place to go but it could be even better with the right people getting things done," indicating an underlying positive sentiment and hope for improvement.
In conclusion, Arrowhead Lakes Resort near Wapakoneta, OH, offers a membership-based camping experience with potential access to lake or water-related activities, as suggested by its name. The resort is currently undergoing renovations to its facilities due to tornado damage, which are expected to be very nice upon completion. Prospective local users searching for "camping near me" should be aware of the membership requirement and the need to go through a sales tour to join. While one review expresses hope for the campground to meet its visual potential and for ongoing maintenance, another highlights the positive sales experience and the promise of improved facilities. To gain a comprehensive understanding of the environment, the current status of services and features, the costs and benefits of membership, and any promotional offers, it is essential to contact Arrowhead Lakes Resort directly at the provided phone numbers.
For local users considering a membership campground, Arrowhead Lakes Resort presents an option with the potential for a resort-style camping experience. However, due diligence is recommended to fully understand the membership terms, the current state of the facilities under renovation, and the overall value proposition. Contacting the resort directly will provide the most accurate and up-to-date information to help you decide if becoming a member of Arrowhead Lakes Resort aligns with your camping preferences and needs when looking for "camping near me."

Arrowhead Lakes Resort Reviews
We really love going to arrowhead. I just really hope to see the campground look as good as the pictures do this year. I also noticed that one of the pictures is from old campground in Indian Lake. An that some over needed maintenance is done this spring. Arrowhead is a great place to go but it could be even better with the right people getting things done.
Mar 18, 2025 · John MierzejewskiThis is a membership only campground. We did a sales tour. Rob was our salesman very nice. The facilities are being redone from tornado damage and will be very nice when done
Mar 14, 2025 · Rodney KusicThe park manager told me she would cancel my stay because a next door camper hooked up to my water hook up and was filling his tank and the temp was 30⁰ out. She told me I should have stopped him and told him he needs to go talk to the camp ground staff. That is not the responsibility of the camper, if the manager can't police her water hook up how can she expect a camper to? I WASN'T USING IT I WAS FOLLOWING THE RULES. The way she talks to people is unacceptable she calls it being firm and direct but she was just rude and treated me like a child.
Nov 30, 2024 · Nick PJack Cox was our contact .Did a fantastic job explaining the membership process. No pressureThanks Jack
Mar 01, 2025 · Nick MaddenMembership campground not open to public, review photos show swimming pool, it was destroyed by tornado now under construction.Great level campings spots, fullhook upBath house was out of date, low showerhead, and a loose toilet seat. We stayed free under the requirement to take a hour tour and a seminar about their membership program. A very expensive membership, good program for some, almost purchased but decided it did not fit my future. May be worth contacting Outdoor Adventures about their program.
