Brush Creek Campground Introduce
Calling all local outdoor enthusiasts in California! Are you searching for the perfect "Camping Near Me" that offers a blend of natural beauty and convenient access to outdoor activities? Look no further than Brush Creek Campground, located in the scenic area of Kernville, CA 93238, USA. Situated in close proximity to both the renowned Kern River and the charming Brush Creek, this campground promises a memorable experience for individuals and families seeking a refreshing escape into nature.
Based on feedback from fellow campers, the environment surrounding Brush Creek Campground is truly captivating. The presence of Brush Creek itself is a major draw, with at least one visitor highlighting the discovery of "unique mini waterfalls" along a nearby trail. Imagine the soothing sounds of cascading water and the opportunity to explore these natural wonders just a short distance from your campsite. The creek is also reported to be home to fish, potentially offering a chance for anglers to try their luck. The abundance of areas for hanging out suggests that the campground provides ample space for relaxation, picnicking, and enjoying the natural surroundings with family and friends.
The campground's proximity to the Kern River further enhances its appeal. The Kern River is a well-known destination for a variety of recreational activities, although the reviews specifically mention the creek. However, being in the vicinity likely offers opportunities for river-related adventures such as fishing, kayaking, or simply enjoying the scenic beauty of this significant waterway. The combination of the creek and the potential access to the river creates a diverse environment for outdoor exploration right at your doorstep.
While specific details regarding the services and amenities at Brush Creek Campground are somewhat limited, the mention of "temporary porta potties" in a review provides some insight. It suggests that basic restroom facilities are available, although the review also points out a need for better maintenance. It is important for prospective campers to be aware that the facilities might be basic and to come prepared accordingly. Typically, campgrounds also offer designated campsites, which may include features like picnic tables and fire rings. Given the phone numbers provided – (760) 376-3781 and +1 760-376-3781 – it is highly recommended that local users contact the campground directly to inquire about specific amenities, reservation procedures, and any current conditions or advisories.
One of the standout features, as mentioned by a visitor, is the presence of trails leading to the "unique mini waterfalls." This suggests that hiking opportunities are available directly from or very near the campground, allowing campers to easily explore the natural beauty of the area on foot. The fact that children enjoyed the location also indicates that the environment is likely family-friendly, with enough space and interesting features to keep younger visitors engaged.
However, it is crucial to address a significant concern raised in one of the reviews: cleanliness. The feedback explicitly mentions that the "temporary porta potties were not well maintained" and that "past campers had done a lousy job cleaning up after themselves," resulting in "broken glass and general dirty conditions." While the reviewer still acknowledged the amazing location, this is a serious point for potential visitors to consider. It underscores the importance of responsible camping practices – pack out all trash, respect the environment, and leave your campsite cleaner than you found it. Hopefully, campground management has taken steps to address these issues to ensure a more pleasant experience for future visitors. Local users who value a clean and well-maintained camping environment may want to inquire about the current conditions before booking a stay.
Despite the cleanliness concerns raised in the review, the positive aspects of Brush Creek Campground – its location near both Kern River and Brush Creek, the presence of waterfalls and hiking trails, and its apparent appeal to families – make it a potentially attractive option for those searching for "Camping Near Me" in the Kernville area. The convenience of a local getaway, combined with the natural beauty and recreational opportunities, can outweigh some temporary inconveniences, especially if visitors come prepared and practice responsible camping.
As there is no specific promotional information available online, the primary promotion for Brush Creek Campground lies in its natural attractions and convenient location for local residents. The opportunity to experience the Kern River and Brush Creek, explore waterfalls, and enjoy the outdoors close to home is a significant draw in itself. For local users looking for a quick and easy escape into nature, Brush Creek Campground offers a promising option.

Brush Creek Campground Reviews
Stopped by to walk the trail and found some unique mini waterfalls. I did see fish in this creek but couldn't get them to bite. Maybe next time. My kids enjoyed this place and there was lots of areas to hang out.
Aug 28, 2024 · Fishing Paradise CaliforniaWe would definitely give this campsite five stars if it was cleaner. It's a truly amazing spot for experiencing both Kern River and Brush Creek. However, the temporary porta potties were not well maintained, and past campers had done a lousy job cleaning up after themselves. Watch out for broken glass and general dirty conditions.
Aug 15, 2020 · Jessica AlbaCurrently the upper Kern river is swift moving with class 5 rapids and not for the inexperienced. Some campgrounds may be closed along the upper Kern. However, many "Day Use Only" areas can still be visited and the scenery is beautiful.
Jul 04, 2023 · Kitty HellCamping at Brush is great, & the bathrooms are cleaned every other day. People for the most part pick up for themselves. Music is loud everywhere cause we're there to party. It you want quiet time do not camp here.
May 21, 2023 · Andy GomezNot really a designated trail. Have to climb over rocks and steep hills. Loved every minute of it. So many spots to stop and enjoy the freezing creek.
