Buckeye Acres Introduce
For local users in search of "camping near me" in the Clyde, Ohio vicinity, Buckeye Acres, located at 972 S Co Rd 278, Clyde, OH 43410, USA, presents itself as an option. They can be contacted at (419) 765-0048 or +1 419-765-0048 for inquiries regarding availability and reservations.
Based on recent customer feedback available online, Buckeye Acres appears to have a few aspects that potential campers should carefully consider. Several reviewers have highlighted concerns regarding the overall environment of the park. One recurring point is the lack of shade, with the park being described as situated in the middle of a field with no trees. This could be a significant factor for campers seeking respite from the sun, particularly during the warmer months. Another environmental concern raised is the condition of the grounds, with one review mentioning overgrown grass or weeds during their visit.
In terms of services and amenities, some reviewers have pointed out specific policies and charges that might impact the camping experience. One customer mentioned being promised a site but subsequently being refused due to technicalities, which raises concerns about reservation reliability and customer service. Another point of feedback is the pricing structure, with one reviewer stating that the $40 per night fee felt high compared to other parks they had visited, especially considering the described environment. Additionally, there are mentions of extra charges for water and electricity at some sites, which is not always standard at all campgrounds and could add to the overall cost of the stay. It's important for potential campers to clarify all applicable fees before booking.
The camp rules at Buckeye Acres have also been a point of contention for at least one reviewer, who described them as "petty to the point you can not enjoy your trip." While specific examples of these rules are not provided, this feedback suggests that the campground might have regulations that some campers find restrictive. It would be prudent for prospective visitors to inquire about the specific camp rules to ensure they align with their expectations for a relaxing camping experience.
One specific incident regarding visitor policy was detailed in a review. While the owner and staff were described as friendly in general, a situation arose when family members came to visit the campers. Despite initial permission from a staff member at the restaurant for the visitors to drive their cars back to the campsite due to its isolated location and lack of other campers nearby, the owner later intervened and insisted that guests park far away by the restaurant and walk to the site. This inconsistency in communication and enforcement of rules caused frustration for the campers.
Despite the aforementioned concerns, there is one aspect of Buckeye Acres that received overwhelmingly positive feedback: the food. One reviewer explicitly stated that the food was "EXCELLENT, probably the best thing about the park." While no specific menu items are detailed, this strong positive comment suggests that the on-site restaurant might be a significant draw for campers, offering a convenient and high-quality dining option.
Finally, a technical issue regarding the utility hookups was mentioned in one review. The layout of the water, electric, and sewer connections was described as "crazy," with the water hookup located at the back of the site, the electric in the middle, and the sewer at the front. This unusual configuration apparently made it impossible to hook up all three utilities simultaneously, which could present an inconvenience for RV campers relying on these services.
In conclusion, for local users searching for "camping near me," Buckeye Acres in Clyde, OH, presents a mixed picture based on recent online reviews. While the friendly demeanor of the owner and staff and the excellent food at the restaurant are noted as positives, potential campers should be aware of concerns regarding the lack of shade, potential for overgrown grounds, extra charges for utilities, potentially restrictive camp rules, and the unusual layout of utility hookups. The inconsistency in visitor policy enforcement also warrants consideration. It is recommended that prospective visitors contact Buckeye Acres directly to inquire about current conditions, specific rules, and all applicable fees to determine if this campground meets their individual needs and preferences for a local camping experience.

Buckeye Acres Reviews
Poor customer service. Was promised a site to rent. Refused to rent to us because of technicalities. With all the sites available the owner has only a few spots and charges extra for water and electricity. What a joke. Note these sites had no trees. Camp rules are petty to the point you can not enjoy your trip. Ban this place on your list. Stay clear.
Jul 05, 2023 · Melissa ChristensenPark is in the middle of a field with no shade. When we were there the grass or weeds were over grown. $40 for a night is high compared to what we paid in many other nicer parks. Owner and staff are friendly, however we had family come over to visit. They charge $2 for each visitor. Girl at the restaurant told us that they could drive there cars back to our lot since we were clear in the back and since there weren't any one else around us.Owner came back in a nasty mood and said are guest were to park way up front by the restaurant and walk back, even though the girl in the restaurant told me it was okay.Food was EXCELLENT, probably the best thing about the park. One final comment, utilities were laid out crazy. Water way to the back, electric in the middle and sewer way to the front, no way to hook up all 3 at the same time.
Jul 27, 2016 · Frederick GoldenGreat family campground. People are friendly. The owner's family awesome as well.
May 18, 2023 · FOROW99Doesn't have tent camping like their website says. When I called and asked they responded that they didn't build the site. But as a business owner myself I is my responsibility to make sure my customers get what they expect after reading their website. Poor business model
