Camano Island State Park Marine Trail Campground Introduce
For local adventurers and nature enthusiasts seeking exceptional 'camping near me' experiences, Camano Island State Park Marine Trail Campground stands out as a premier destination in Camano, Washington. Located at 2269 Lowell Point Rd, Camano, WA 98282, USA, this campground offers a unique blend of coastal beauty, diverse recreational opportunities, and well-maintained facilities, making it an ideal choice for individuals, families, and groups looking to immerse themselves in the natural splendor of the Pacific Northwest.
Camano Island State Park itself is renowned for its breathtaking scenery, and the Marine Trail Campground perfectly complements this reputation. Situated along the marine trail, the campground provides access to stunning coastal views and the rich biodiversity of the area. One long-time visitor, who has been coming to the park for over 35 years, attests to its enduring appeal, describing it as a "beautiful area filled with tons of wildlife." This speaks volumes about the natural environment that campers can expect to enjoy. Imagine waking up to the sounds of the ocean and the sight of local wildlife right at your doorstep.
The campground offers "very comfortable sites," as noted by a recent visitor. Specifically, the tent sites are highlighted for being "leveled and prepared very well," ensuring a more enjoyable and hassle-free camping experience. This attention to the quality of the campsites demonstrates a commitment to camper comfort. Furthermore, some campsites, such as site number 14, boast particularly spectacular locations, offering a "beautiful view of the ocean directly from the tent," perched on a cliff overlooking the water. The opportunity to have such a picturesque setting for your camping adventure is a significant draw for those seeking a memorable coastal getaway.
Beyond the comfortable campsites and stunning views, Camano Island State Park Marine Trail Campground offers a plethora of activities to keep visitors engaged. The park features numerous "hiking trails" that wind through the diverse landscapes of the island, allowing campers to explore the forests, bluffs, and shoreline at their own pace. For those who enjoy interactive outdoor adventures, "geocaching" is also a popular activity within the park, adding an element of treasure hunting to your exploration. The presence of an "outdoor shower" is a notable amenity, providing a convenient way for campers to refresh after a day of hiking or beachcombing.
While the positive aspects of the campground are numerous, it's important to note any temporary inconveniences reported by visitors. One recent review mentioned the closure of a "short path from the campground to the beach," which necessitated using a longer route. Such trail closures can sometimes occur due to maintenance or environmental reasons, and it's always a good idea to check for any current advisories before your visit. Additionally, the same review noted that "firewood is prohibited for now." This is a crucial piece of information for campers planning to have campfires, and it underscores the importance of being aware of and adhering to park regulations, which can change based on environmental conditions and safety concerns.

Camano Island State Park Marine Trail Campground Reviews
I've been coming to this state park for over 35 years 🫶 Such a beautiful area filled with tons of wildlife, hiking trails, geocaching, camp sites, an outdoor shower... it's got it all! A must of you're in the area looking for somewhere to spend the day!
Apr 07, 2025 · B-Autumn ChildersThis campground has very comfortable sites . The tent sites are leveled and prepared very well. Some places (for example No. 14) are located so that there is a beautiful view of the ocean directly from the tent, from the cliff where the tent camp is located. I was disappointed that the short path from the campground to the beach was closed and we had to take the long path. Firewood is prohibited for now.

Feb 27, 2024 · matt thompsonThis is an excellent park. There is an interpretive trail with explanations of the woodlands ecosystem, a rocky beach area with fine picnicking, and nice hikes with good elevation changes. Clean restrooms too.
Nov 22, 2020 · Mike AhernThis was a pleasant beach to enjoy. Great views and nice areas to sit. There are brand new bathrooms to use along with a boat launch. It is a place I'd come back to in the future.
