Checotah / Lake Eufaula West KOA Holiday Reviews
We have so greatly enjoyed our stay at this KOA each time we’ve been there. It is located in a beautiful setting with lovely trees and it is always super clean and tidy. We always stay in one of their very comfortable and clean pet friendly cabins and our dog loves enjoying walks around the beautiful camp and down to the nearby lake. The staff there is super friendly and accommodating and one of them even offered to help my husband when he saw the hood of our car up thinking we may need car repair help (my husband was just checking the oil). That was very kind of him and showed how their customer service goes above and beyond. We appreciated it very much! We will always recommend this KOA and we will definitely be back! Excellent campground!
Apr 05, 2025 · Jenna MillerThis KOA should not be a KOA Holiday. It is very run down, sites are grass and not kept mowed. Bathrooms and showers are acceptable. Convenient off of Rt. 40. A playground but not kept up. Staff at the desk was friendly and informed me that previous owners let the place go. It is now under new management and they are trying to make improvements. I would say keeping the grass mowed would be a good start to make it more inviting. The staff on duty did make an effort to make the family bathroom available for me to assist a special needs adult. I wish the new management success. This place could be a diamond in the rough for now. Don't give up on it.
May 03, 2025 · BarbThe road getting into campground is in rough shape. The lady that checked us in was very nice and helpful. She told us to be careful where the road had washed out with all the rain and it was bad. She said they have had lots of rain the past few weeks so I can't complain about it needing mowing. It had rained the day we arrived but was nice the next day. No one worked on repairing the deep ruts in the roads. It looks like it could be a nice campground but has been neglected. Sites and roads need gravel. Our site was level. Probably would not stop here again
May 03, 2025 · P CaseyI will start this review by saying that prior to my arrival, the area did have a lot of rain which resulted in flooded areas and a lot of mud. This did not impact my review of this koa. Upon arrival I found the office staff to be pleasant and friendly. When I arrived to my site I was very disappointed. It appeared as though the grass had not been cut in quite a while and the picnic tables and fire pits looked old and run down. Walking through the park I observed several areas that were in need of tlc. I went to the laundry to wash a load of towels and all but two washing machines were out of order. 1 had someone’s clothes in it and the other had a broken spindle. I used the broken one which cost $2.00. I then put the load of towels into 2 separate dryers in hopes that they would dry quicker. It took 3 cycles in 2 dryers to dry 1 load of towels. This was at a cost of $1.50 per dryer per cycle. So the total cost to do 1 load of towels was $11.00. The laundry area too was in need of attention. This KOA should not be labeled as a holiday and I am frankly surprised that KOA continues to allow their name at this camp ground. The location was convenient, as it is right off the freeway. I stayed at this location for 1 night and will not stay here again.
Apr 30, 2025 · Michael GWe were delighted with this cute KOA campground. It sits next to Lake Eufaula and has it's own barnyard animals. We took the short path to the beach and noticed another family with a canoe provided by the KOA. Our pull through site had its own patio complete with propane BBQ. The staff is super friendly and helpful as well.
