Cross Bar Ranch: Main Camp Introduce
Are you searching for the perfect camping getaway near you? Look no further than Cross Bar Ranch: Main Camp! Nestled in the heart of Oklahoma, Cross Bar Ranch offers a diverse range of camping experiences, catering to both RV enthusiasts and those who prefer the simplicity of tent camping. As a featured location within the 'camping near me' category, Cross Bar Ranch provides exceptional facilities and access to a sprawling outdoor adventure park.
The Environment: Embrace the Rugged Beauty
Cross Bar Ranch is situated within the Arbuckle Mountains, boasting over 6,500 acres of rugged and largely untouched terrain. This picturesque setting provides a stunning backdrop for your camping adventure. You'll find rocky hills, steep inclines, and deep ravines, all contributing to the unique natural beauty of the area. The ranch also features natural springs and streams, adding to the scenic appeal. Whether you're relaxing at your campsite or exploring the vast property, you'll be immersed in the tranquility of nature.
Camping Services and Amenities at Main Camp
The Main Camp at Cross Bar Ranch offers well-maintained facilities to ensure a comfortable stay:
- RV Sites: There are 28 dedicated RV sites, each featuring water and electrical hookups (30/50 amp), a concrete slab for level parking, a picnic table for outdoor dining, and a charcoal grill for cookouts. Some RV spots also include fire pits, perfect for evening gatherings around a crackling fire. For those needing additional space, "Ranch House" sites might be available upon calling. If the main RV sites are fully booked, it's worth calling to be added to a waitlist or to inquire about other potential openings. The cost for these RV sites is typically $40 per day, with a two-night minimum stay required on weekends and holidays. Please note that only one RV is permitted per site, and removing the splitter from the water spigot is not allowed. During freezing temperatures, guests are asked to turn off their water to prevent damage to the spigot. Check-in time is at noon.
- Overflow RV Spots: In addition to the main RV sites, there are 5 overflow RV spots offering 50-amp electrical hookups and water spigots, located on gravel to the left of the Bunk House. Parking for these sites is on the west side of the Bunk House. These also cost $40 per day with a two-night weekend minimum.
- Primitive Camping: For those who prefer a more traditional camping experience, Cross Bar Ranch allows unlimited primitive and tent camping throughout the park, even along the extensive trail system. Generators are permitted in primitive camping areas, except near the RV hookup sites, out of consideration for those guests. Primitive RV camping (without hookups) is allowed starting at the Event Grounds. You can fill your water tanks at the dump station. Please note that primitive camping is not allowed within the Main Camp area itself. The cost for primitive RV camping is $15 per day per RV, with no minimum stay requirement. Tent camping and overlanding are also welcome, allowing you to "boondock it out in the sticks" in virtually any area accessible by your vehicle (excluding unauthorized zones). Tent camping costs $10 per day per tent, with no minimum day requirement. Payment for primitive and tent camping can be made online or at the Low Water Office, with a cash drop box available for after-hours payments.
- Primitive Bunk House: For a slightly more comfortable "primitive" experience, consider renting the Bunk House. It sleeps five comfortably with two queen beds and one twin bed (guests need to bring their own linens). The Bunk House includes air conditioning and heating, a kitchen table, a small refrigerator, a microwave, a toaster oven, and a K-cup style coffee machine (bring your own coffee supplies). Outside, there is a water spigot and a port-a-potty. Note that there is currently no running water inside the Bunk House. Parking is available on the right side only. The Bunk House rents for $125 per day, plus a one-time $25 cleaning fee, with a two-night minimum on weekends. Reservations for the Bunk House require a phone call.
- Premium RV Sites: For those seeking a bit more, there are 7 premium RV spots in the Ranch House area, offering 50-amp electrical hookups and water spigots on gravel. These sites are priced at $70 per day, with a two-night minimum on weekends. Reservations for premium sites also require a phone call.
In addition to the camping-specific amenities, Cross Bar Ranch offers general facilities for all visitors, including restrooms, showers, and picnic areas. There is also a store on-site where you can purchase snacks, drinks, and other essential items.
Features and Activities: More Than Just Camping
What truly sets Cross Bar Ranch apart is its extensive 6,500-acre off-road park. With over 150 miles of trails, it's the largest dedicated off-road riding area in Oklahoma and Texas. Whether you own a dirt bike, ATV, UTV, Jeep, or truck, you'll find diverse terrain suitable for all skill levels. Explore rocky hills, muddy valleys, and challenging inclines. Please note that you need to bring your own off-road vehicles as rentals are not available.
Beyond off-roading, the ranch offers opportunities for hiking and enjoying the natural environment. The network of trails winds through forests and across streams, providing a chance to experience the beauty of the Arbuckle Mountains up close.
Promotional Information and Booking
Cross Bar Ranch is open year-round, making it a fantastic destination for a weekend escape or a longer outdoor adventure. For RV sites and the Primitive Bunk House, reservations are required and can often be made online. Primitive and tent camping do not typically require reservations. It's always a good idea to check the Cross Bar Ranch website or call for the most up-to-date availability, especially during peak seasons and holidays.
Important Policies: Ensuring a Safe and Enjoyable Stay
To ensure everyone has a pleasant experience, Cross Bar Ranch has a few rules and regulations. All visitors must sign a waiver before entering the property. Please adhere to posted signs and staff directions. For the safety of all, no smoking or open flames are allowed outside of designated areas. Guests are required to stay on marked trails and roads; off-roading is prohibited in undesignated areas. Alcohol and drugs are not permitted on the property. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash at all times.
For campers specifically, campfires are only allowed in designated fire rings. Please ensure your campsite is clean upon departure. Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 7 am, and generator use is not permitted after 10 pm. All trash must be packed out and disposed of properly in provided receptacles.
Cancellation Policy: Flexibility for Your Plans
Cross Bar Ranch offers a flexible cancellation policy. You can receive a full refund if you cancel more than 48 hours in advance. A half refund is provided for cancellations made between 24 and 48 hours prior to your reservation. Unfortunately, no refunds are given for cancellations within 24 hours, no-shows, early departures, or due to weather conditions unless inclement weather prevents entry to the park. To cancel a reservation, please call or text 580-247-7244; do not use email or Facebook messages for cancellations as they may not be seen in time.

Cross Bar Ranch: Main Camp Reviews
Great park, lots to see and explore. Different levels of difficulty. Experienced or Novice, you can have fun here. Little rough if you don't have your machine tight. Especially if you come with mud tires. Definitely recommend all terrain or rock tires. Not a whole lot of deep mud, just a few good holes. Long, winding trails everywhere. Can stay out for hours and not see the same thing twice. Electric and water at RV pads, but bring a long water hose.
Jul 21, 2023 · chris parkerSo much fun! We drove all the way from Mico, TX. We checked in on a Sunday and had the whole park to ourselves for 3 days! So many trails of all levels. Most are nice and flat and most mud holes are easily avoidable if you want. Lots of bypasses but mostly don't need them. Some of the trails up front are only for rock crawlers or full size vehicles but most all the others are good for ATVs or quads. Lots of trails aren't on the maps so use satellite view on your phone if you can. Its easy to get turned around. But that's all part of the fun too! Great staff at the front and the park is clean and open! Can't wait to come back!
Jun 09, 2022 · Airwrecka ChatWe got stuck 2 times and we couldn't make it through Hells Gate. We did go down some gnarly trails. I Highly recommend a winch or a come-a-long in your off road vehicle. The mud is 2-3ft deep is some areas.
May 26, 2024 · Will TurtleFavorite place to ride! Easy trails up to some extreme rock climbs. There’s even a section of the nasty muddy stuff over in the SW of the park. Always a great time! Ride all night, because that’s when you see more of the “wild”life! 😁
Feb 10, 2023 · Scott PrenticeNice park plenty of trails to explore.Mud tires and good suspension are highly recommended.
