The environment surrounding Crossroads Campground is described as a quiet, countryside location. This suggests a peaceful and potentially rural setting, offering a break from more bustling areas. While specific details about the natural landscape are limited, the mention of a "countryside" environment implies open spaces, possibly with trees and natural vegetation typical of rural Alabama. The tranquility of the area appears to be a key characteristic, making it appealing to those seeking a relaxing camping experience. Its proximity to a local store is highlighted as a convenience, suggesting that campers have easy access to basic necessities without having to travel far. Additionally, the campground is located within a 10 to 15-minute drive to the town of Centre, providing access to a wider range of amenities and services.
Based on the available reviews, the services at Crossroads Campground are somewhat limited, focusing primarily on providing the camper sites themselves. Notably, one review explicitly states that there is "no laundry room or bath house" on the premises. This indicates that campers staying at Crossroads Campground need to be self-contained within their own RVs or campers for essential facilities such as restrooms, showers, and laundry. The campground operates on a "bring your own camper" model, meaning they do not rent out campers themselves; they only provide the space for you to park and set up your own RV or camper. However, a significant amenity mentioned is the availability of a "free boat launch less than a mile down from the office." This feature would be particularly attractive to those who enjoy boating, fishing, or other water activities on nearby bodies of water, although the specific body of water is not identified in the provided information.
The primary feature of Crossroads Campground is its provision of quiet, countryside camper sites for individuals and families who own their recreational vehicles. The emphasis is on a peaceful and family-friendly atmosphere. The "bring your own camper" policy is a defining feature, distinguishing it from campgrounds that offer rental units. The proximity to a local store is a convenient feature for campers needing to purchase supplies. Furthermore, the availability of a free boat launch nearby adds a significant recreational feature for those interested in water activities. The short drive to the town of Centre expands the accessibility of amenities and services beyond what is available directly at the campground. The positive mention of it being a "great place to stay" by a reviewer who personally knows the owners and has stayed for extended periods suggests a welcoming and well-managed environment for those who come prepared with their own camping units.
Currently, the provided reviews do not contain any specific information regarding promotional offers or discounts at Crossroads Campground. To inquire about potential rates, seasonal specials, or any other promotions, it is recommended to contact the campground directly using the provided phone numbers. Given the limited information available, it is unclear if they have a website or other online presence where promotional details might be shared. However, the positive feedback from a long-term visitor suggests that the value and experience offered by Crossroads Campground are appreciated by those who choose to stay there, even without specific advertised promotions.
In conclusion, for local residents seeking a quiet, countryside "camping near me" experience near Centre, Alabama, Crossroads Campground offers a "bring your own camper" site in a family-friendly environment. While it lacks on-site laundry and bathhouse facilities, its proximity to a local store and the nearby free boat launch provide certain conveniences and recreational opportunities. Crossroads Campground Reviews
Lots are extremely small but, close to a store that's good. No laundry room or bath house. Only 10 to 15 minutes to town that's a good thing.
Apr 13, 2024 · Katie LawsonGreat place to stay. As for this Zack character that keeps leaving negative comments on other sites about Cross roads camp ground, you got the wrong place buddy! Because I know these people personally from extended stays here and I know for a fact that they do not rent camper's, only camper site's. So you insist you rented a tiny camper that 2 people could hardly fit in? Well it wasn't here because this is a "bring your own camper" Campground! This is a quiet, countryside, family friendly place to stay. Free boat launch less than a mile down from office. Great place to stay!??
