Elk Point City Park and Campground Reviews
This is a city park. It's located directly beside I29. It's $15 a night with electricity. Which is cheap these days. Water is available but not at each site. Bathrooms were clean. For an overnight stay it was quick in and out.You park on grass which is an advantage when you're rolling up a water hose. No muddy hose to roll up. Also nice to walk on. Great playground for kids here. You self register. You are right beside some ball fields so I imagine it might be a little bit noisy on a Friday night. The biggest issue was the I29 traffic noise. It's really loud. Particularly if you have to have your windows open or if you were in a tent. We put our air-conditioning on with a fan running all the time. It helped drown out most, but not all of the trucks going by with their Jake/engine brakes. I've attached a couple of pictures of just how close you are to the traffic.
Sep 18, 2024 · Judy RamboGreat little park. Right off the highway. Easy access for a break from driving for the night. Awesome playground for the kids. Didn't use the bathouse.
Apr 18, 2025 · Nicole BinczikIt's a very peaceful park with easy in and out for campers. Nice playground, scenery etc. I'm giving it 3 stars bc the bathhouse really could use an upgrade or a rebuild, where there are two shower heads in one shower stall. I was thankful that a stranger didn't just come join me with no shower curtain anywhere in sight. This place has SO much potential. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and felt safe while there.
Oct 20, 2020 · Kristi Z.We were traveling through and needed a one night stay. Would have loved to stay longer. What a great clean well kept city park.Sites had electric and water. Clean bathrooms and showers. This is a great town so stop for one night or longer..
Jul 26, 2024 · Libby DeckerThis place is hard to find from Main Street. The signs there are wonderfully vague and only point to the SW. Finding this place is the hardest and from there things improve. You can not beat $20 a night for water/electric with flush toilets, showers, fire rings and picnic tables. Not much shade. Also you will parking your vehicle on grass. Usually quiet and uncrowded. Be aware there is noise from the interstate behind the park and if it ever was crowded the sites are very close together. We visited May 2023.
