Ferguson's Willow Creek Introduce
For local users seeking "camping near me" options in the Rochester, Minnesota area, Ferguson's Willow Creek, located at an address in Rochester, MN 55902, presents a campground with mixed reviews. While one long-term guest lauded the exceptional management, another visitor pointed out significant drawbacks related to its environment and infrastructure. This objective introduction aims to provide a balanced overview based on the available customer feedback to help local campers make an informed decision.
One of the most prominent aspects of Ferguson's Willow Creek, as highlighted by a reviewer who stayed for a month, is the outstanding management. This guest awarded the campground five stars solely based on the manager's welcoming and accommodating nature. The reviewer specifically mentioned the manager and his wife, noting the pleasure of meeting them. Such positive feedback regarding the management suggests a personal touch and a willingness to ensure guests have a pleasant stay. For campers who value friendly and helpful service, this could be a significant draw when considering "camping near me" options.
However, another recent review presents a contrasting perspective, indicating that the campground might have certain environmental and infrastructure limitations. This reviewer noted that the highway runs directly next to the campground, resulting in considerable noise. Highway proximity is a common factor for some campgrounds, offering convenience but potentially compromising the tranquility of the natural environment. For campers prioritizing a quiet and peaceful setting within their "camping near me" search, the highway noise at Ferguson's Willow Creek could be a significant deterrent.
Furthermore, the second reviewer mentioned a specific issue with the sewer hookups, stating that they are "tall," making it difficult for sewer lines to run smoothly. This type of infrastructure problem can be particularly inconvenient for RV owners and those relying on sewer connections for longer stays. Potential difficulties with essential hookups are important considerations for anyone planning to camp with a recreational vehicle at Ferguson's Willow Creek.
Despite these drawbacks, the second reviewer acknowledged that Ferguson's Willow Creek served as "a place to stay," and they "made the best of it." However, they explicitly stated that they "would not return" due to the noted issues. This suggests that while the campground might fulfill basic needs for an overnight stop, it may not offer the overall experience that some campers seek in a longer-term or more recreational "camping near me" destination.
Based on the limited information, it's challenging to provide a comprehensive overview of the environment beyond its proximity to the highway. However, the name "Willow Creek" might suggest the presence of some natural features, possibly a creek or willow trees, although this is not confirmed by the reviews. The overall ambiance could be influenced by the highway noise, potentially detracting from the natural setting one might typically expect from a campground.
Specific services and features of Ferguson's Willow Creek are not detailed in the provided reviews. However, based on the fact that it accommodates RVs (as indicated by the sewer hookup issue and the one-month stay of a guest), it likely offers some essential amenities for campers. These could include:
- RV sites with hookups (electricity, water, sewer – though the sewer setup has been noted as problematic)
- Tent camping areas (though not explicitly mentioned)
- Potable water access
- Waste disposal facilities
- Potentially, restroom and shower facilities (not mentioned in the reviews)
Given the mention of a manager, there is likely some level of on-site management and customer service available, as positively highlighted by one reviewer. This could include assistance with check-in, site information, and addressing any issues that may arise during a stay.
No promotional information is available in the provided text. Therefore, local users interested in Ferguson's Willow Creek would need to contact the campground directly using the provided phone numbers – (507) 282-1414 or +1 507-282-1414 – to inquire about rates, availability, specific amenities, and any current offers. It would also be prudent to ask about the noise levels from the adjacent highway and the specifics of the sewer hookup situation to determine if this campground meets their individual needs and preferences for "camping near me."
In conclusion, Ferguson's Willow Creek near Rochester, MN, appears to be a campground with a notable strength in its management, as attested by a long-term guest. However, potential drawbacks include significant noise from the adjacent highway and reported issues with the sewer hookup infrastructure. Local users searching for "camping near me" should weigh these factors carefully. If friendly and accommodating management is a top priority and the potential for highway noise and infrastructure limitations are acceptable, Ferguson's Willow Creek might be a viable option. However, those seeking a quieter, more naturally secluded environment with reliable infrastructure may need to explore alternative campgrounds in the Rochester area.

Ferguson's Willow Creek Reviews
I give this 5 stars based solely on the manager of the park. That was the nicest guy ever. Stayed for a month and he was so welcoming and accommodating. Pleasure meeting him and his wife.
Jul 25, 2024 · JimNot much to this place. The highway runs right next to it, so it is quite noisy. Sewer is tall so hard to get your sewer line to run smoothly to it. It was a place to stay so we made the best of it, but I would not return.
Aug 04, 2020 · Courtney ThompsonWonderful place to stay while I went through a stem cell transplant. The guys were very nice, trustworthy, helpful, and sincerely cared about my well being. I would definitely stay again. The campground was quiet and peaceful. Thank you Ferguson's willow creek. 😊
Jul 20, 2016 · Nicole NybergIt is okay...Autumn Woods is much nicer if going to Mayo because of the shuttle service. Ferguson 's is just off Hwy 63 so convenient for driving into the city. The sites need to be improved with new gravel and grass areas seeded.
Aug 12, 2015 · Diane MooreDefinitely not what I expected. Bathrooms looked like they hadn't been used in weeks. Person working in office was great and refunded my money right away.
