Flamingo Eco-Tent Campgrounds Introduce
Are you a local adventurer in search of the perfect camping getaway near you? Look no further than Flamingo Eco-Tent Campgrounds, nestled in the heart of Homestead, Florida. This unique campground offers an immersive experience in the stunning natural environment of the Everglades National Park, providing a refreshing escape from the everyday. If you're browsing platforms under the category "camping near me," Flamingo Eco-Tent Campgrounds presents an exceptional opportunity to connect with nature without sacrificing comfort.
At Flamingo Eco-Tent Campgrounds, the accommodation itself is a highlight. Forget traditional tents; here, you'll find well-appointed eco-tents designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape while offering a comfortable and memorable stay. Many of these tents boast incredible views of the bay, allowing you to wake up to the serene beauty of the Everglades right outside your doorstep. While some guests have noted the importance of earplugs due to the sounds of neighbors and tent zippers, the overall experience of staying in these unique structures is overwhelmingly positive.
The location of Flamingo Eco-Tent Campgrounds is truly unparalleled for those seeking "camping near me" with a focus on natural exploration. Situated within close proximity to numerous walking trails, this campground serves as an ideal basecamp for hikers and nature enthusiasts of all levels. Imagine stepping out of your eco-tent and immediately having access to the diverse ecosystems and breathtaking scenery that the Everglades has to offer. Furthermore, the campground's proximity to the marina opens up opportunities for boat tours, a highly recommended activity by past visitors. These tours provide a fantastic way to witness the unique wildlife of the Everglades, including the fascinating crocodiles that frequent the marina area. Keep your eyes peeled for amazing sunrises and sunsets that paint the sky with vibrant colors, creating picture-perfect moments during your stay.
While immersing yourself in nature is a primary draw, Flamingo Eco-Tent Campgrounds also offers essential services to ensure a comfortable camping experience. Each eco-tent is equipped with the essentials for a pleasant stay, including comfortable beds and protection from mosquitoes, a significant advantage in the Florida environment. However, some guests have pointed out that the bathhouse facilities could benefit from updates. It's worth noting that power outlets within the tents are limited, so bringing a power strip with an extension cord is a highly recommended tip from previous visitors to ensure you can charge your devices conveniently. Additionally, the lighting inside the tents is described as dim, so packing an extra light source can enhance your comfort during the evenings.
Getting your gear from the parking area to your eco-tent is made easier with the provision of wheelbarrows. While these are shared and need to be returned after use, they significantly simplify the process of transporting your belongings. Some guests have suggested bringing a wagon as an alternative for added convenience, especially for those with more equipment.
When it comes to dining, the Flamingo restaurant offers a convenient option for meals. Based on guest reviews, the restaurant provides above-average food for its price point, making it a reliable choice for breakfast, lunch, or dinner during your camping trip. This is particularly beneficial for those who prefer not to cook all their meals at the campsite.
For those planning to enhance their outdoor experience, bringing supplies for campfires is an option, allowing you to enjoy the quintessential camping tradition under the stars. While mosquito repellent is generally a good idea when venturing into the Everglades, the eco-tents themselves are designed to be largely mosquito-proof, providing a comfortable and bite-free sleeping environment.
Flamingo Eco-Tent Campgrounds presents a unique opportunity to experience the beauty and wonder of the Everglades in a comfortable and convenient setting. Its strategic location near walking trails and the marina, coupled with the unique eco-tent accommodations, makes it a standout choice for locals searching for "camping near me." While some aspects, like the bathhouse facilities, have room for improvement, the overall experience, highlighted by stunning natural views, diverse wildlife encounters, and access to activities like boat tours, makes for an unforgettable retreat. The positive reviews from fellow campers underscore the appeal of this destination for those seeking an authentic yet comfortable Everglades adventure.

Flamingo Eco-Tent Campgrounds Reviews
I’ve lived in Florida most of my life and never experienced or visited the Everglades so I decided to give it a try in an Eco tent at the Flamingo Campground. The tents are pretty cool, ours had amazing views of the bay and privacy. The positives would be location, the bed was fairly comfortable, the room had the essentials and it was mosquito proof (for the most part). The negatives would be the trek to the bathhouse (which is in need of updating), lack of privacy (we heard the neighbor go in/out his tent numerous times through the night) and the constant zippering/rolling of doors and windows. If you decide to give it a try, here are some things that would make the stay better. Cool weather bring a blanket (we brought a heated one). A power strip with extension was extremely helpful as there’s only outlet. An extra light (the one in the room is dim) and a wagon made transporting our stuff from the parking lot to the tent much easier. They do provide a few wheel barrows but they must be returned after use. We ate at the Flamingo restaurant for 2 meals and would say overall it’s above average for the price.
Jan 17, 2025 · CarolineHad a great time in their new tents. Finally got to see the crocodiles that live by the marina. Close to many walking trails. We took the boat tour and it was beautiful and our guides were absolutely wonderful. Amazing sunrises and sunsets. We took supplies for fires and big spray but we had an awesome time and can't wait to go back.

Mar 10, 2025 · PaulYou wouldn't even know you were in a tent staying there... Beautiful being out in the open. Bring bug spray for sure. I got a little noisy with the wind flapping the tent and the bed could probably be a little away from the wall as a creaked but definitely loved the location and the atmosphere. Lots of osprey and other birds. No food in the tents but there are picnic areas and fire rings. You do have to go to the bathhouse to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night but everything was lit enough to feel safe.
Apr 24, 2024 · Jessica PanzaThe tents are fantastic by themselves, with two double beds, fully lined, and roll-over fabric walls that can be rolled up, leaving just the mosquito nets between you and the view, which is lovely. Our tent had the main view to the sea, so we could wake up with the sight of egrets, pelicans and eagles doing their morning rounds. The tents are placed on a flood-prone area, so they are elevated and with a great runway to move around. Bahtrooms are excellent and well kept. The stall is great, always with a smile and ejoying of being there. Highly recommendable.
