Freedom Hills Campground Introduce
For those in search of "camping near me" with a potentially unique and welcoming atmosphere, Freedom Hills Campground, located at 212 Victoria Lane, Lancing, TN 37770, USA, presents an interesting case based on the available customer reviews. You can contact them at (931) 349-1399 or their mobile number, +1 931-349-1399, for more information.
The reviews for Freedom Hills Campground offer contrasting perspectives, which is important for local users to consider. One reviewer expresses significant reservations, stating, "Not a campground at all, unless you want to tent camp in an open field." This review points out the apparent lack of typical campground amenities, such as "camping spaces," water or sewer hook-ups, and electricity. This perspective suggests a very basic camping experience, primarily suited for tent campers who are self-sufficient in terms of their needs. The same reviewer goes on to allege that the location is "simply a front for a swinger's club, nothing more," which is a serious claim that potential visitors should be aware of, although it is not corroborated by other reviews.
In stark contrast, another reviewer offers a very positive portrayal, describing Chad, presumably the owner, as "a friend, dedicated American Veteran, and wonderful host to all that visit him and his establishment." This reviewer mentions having "stayed in camper" and enjoyed the "surrounding atmosphere." They further suggest a family-friendly environment, encouraging others to "Bring you tent and kids and enjoy the mountains," and asserting, "You won’t find a more family friendly area." This perspective paints a picture of a welcoming place with a host who makes guests feel at home.
Given these divergent opinions, it's challenging to definitively characterize the environment, services, and features of Freedom Hills Campground based solely on these reviews. However, we can attempt to synthesize the information provided. The environment seems to be an "open field" suitable for tent camping, potentially surrounded by mountains, as suggested by one reviewer's comment about enjoying the mountains. The atmosphere appears to be a point of contention, with one reviewer alleging a non-family-friendly purpose, while another strongly emphasizes its family-friendly nature and the welcoming demeanor of the host.
Regarding services and features, one review explicitly mentions the absence of "camping spaces" (presumably meaning designated RV sites with hookups), as well as no water or sewer hook-ups, or electricity. This suggests that the campground primarily caters to tent campers and those in RVs who do not require these connections or are prepared to camp without them. On the other hand, the positive review implies a level of hospitality from the host ("there to make you feel at home") and an atmosphere that at least one guest found enjoyable while staying in a camper.
The feature of being owned and hosted by Chad, a "dedicated American Veteran," is highlighted in one positive review, suggesting a potential appeal to fellow veterans and those who appreciate supporting them. The mention of it being a "family friendly area" by one reviewer also points to a potential feature for families looking for a camping spot.
It's important to note the significant discrepancy between the two reviews. One paints a picture of a basic, potentially problematic location lacking standard amenities, while the other describes a welcoming, family-friendly environment with a commendable host. Without further information or more reviews, it is difficult to reconcile these contrasting views objectively.
There is no promotional information provided in the reviews. Local users would need to contact Freedom Hills Campground directly at the provided phone numbers to inquire about availability, pricing, and any specific services offered.
In conclusion, Freedom Hills Campground in Lancing, TN, presents a somewhat ambiguous picture for those seeking "camping near me." One review suggests a very basic tent camping experience in an open field, lacking standard RV amenities and alleging a non-family-friendly purpose. Conversely, another review praises the host, highlights a pleasant atmosphere, and recommends it as a family-friendly area near the mountains. Potential local users should be aware of these conflicting opinions and may wish to contact the campground directly to form their own conclusions based on their specific needs and preferences. If you are primarily interested in tent camping in an open field and value a potentially welcoming host, Freedom Hills Campground might be worth further inquiry. However, it's crucial to consider the concerns raised in one of the reviews before making a decision.

Not a campground at all, unless you want to tent camp in an open field. You have to ask yourself, why is there a campground without camping spaces, no water or sewer hook-ups or electricity? This is simply a front for a swinger's club, nothing more.

Aug 20, 2023 · Dane SnowdenChad and Jessica Farley are some of the nicest people on this planet! Our college group thoroughly enjoyed our stay at their campground as they were such supportive and welcoming hosts. It was also really convenient to stay at their place since it was so close to the Obed climbing area.
Mar 13, 2023 · Noah MeekerFreedom Hills is a fantastic spot! When we began preparing for our Thanksgiving climbing trip we were sad to hear the Lilly Pad was closed this season, but luckily we stumbled across Freedom Hills and its terrific owners, Chad and Jessica Farley. The campsite is still being developed, so there were a few areas under construction, but we were given free camping and free breakfast because of this! Chad and Jessica were incredibly welcoming and kind, and though they are not climbers themselves they were very excited to have us and have already designated a specific area for climber camping. They also have begun developing boulder projects near their area, and we had a very enjoyable day exploring new boulders with their resident setter Elliot. It is an easy 10 minute drive to all of the significant Obed climbing parking lots, and we felt extremely lucky to have such an ideal situation during our stay. On top of it all, Chad and Jessica went above and beyond as hosts, driving out late at night to give us hot chocolate and smores makings, or setting up a taco bar Thanksgiving night! We were blown away by their generosity... Many of the profits from this enterprise will be going towards the Wounded Warriors program, so there's really no excuse not to give these folks your money! I can't wait to come back here, as they have big plans to add various facilities, and we may try the tents and cabins that they are adding to the property for visitors. This is a phenomenal outdoor space that is only getting better, and regardless of your interest Chad and Jessica will do everything they can to accommodate you. We will definitely be returning next time we are climbing in the area.
Nov 30, 2020 · Edward WaltersChad and Jessica are the kindest most hospitable people I've ever met. We had originally planned on tent camping, and the weather at night was dipping down into 15⁰/20⁰. Chad offered us to stay in a cabin for no extra charge since it was open and a lot warmer than sleeping in a tent in that kind of weather. We were really thankful he let us! Jessica also cooked us some delicious food and had breakfast for us every morning :) . As for the campground, it has a really beautiful view and their goals for freedom hills as a community center are inspiring. They want to do community outreach offering climbing, mountain biking, kayaking, and even have a drive in theater. Thanks guys for an awesome time, I'm excited to see what this place looks like in the coming years!
