Don’t camp here! We were in site 9 - sewer hookup didn’t work! Neighbors had tarp over the roof of their trailer. Dog poop in our site. Need code to get into gate, BUT, exit gate is open all the time. Not secure. Bathrooms are a disaster/ not clean, no TP! Showers are filthy filthy! Old wood picnic tables and banged up fire rings Definitely NOT worth 50 dollars a night. I will be asking and expecting a refund!! - Robin Huffaker

Glen Helen Regional Park Campground Introduce

For local users in the "Camping Near Me" category seeking an outdoor experience, Glen Helen Regional Park Campground, located at 17800 Glen Helen Rd, San Bernardino, CA 92407, offers a camping option with varying perspectives from recent visitors. You can contact them at (909) 887-7540 or +1 909-887-7540 for inquiries and reservations.

The environment of Glen Helen Regional Park Campground appears to offer a blend of natural surroundings and accessibility. Situated within Glen Helen Regional Park, campers have access to the broader park's amenities and natural beauty without an extra charge. One review describes it as a "quiet, out of the way place to decompress," suggesting a potentially peaceful atmosphere, especially when the campground is not at full capacity. However, it's worth noting that another review mentions light freeway noise and some train noise, indicating that complete tranquility might not always be guaranteed.

The services and features at Glen Helen Regional Park Campground seem to be a point of contention among reviewers. One camper who stayed at site 9 reported a non-functional sewer hookup, dog poop on their site, and significant issues with the cleanliness of the bathrooms and showers, including a lack of toilet paper. This reviewer strongly advised against camping there and deemed it not worth the $50 per night fee. In contrast, another reviewer described the campground as "primitive" in terms of lacking services like Wi-Fi, security, a pool, or a clubhouse. However, this reviewer also noted the availability of water, electricity, and sewer hookups (W/E/S) at some sites, contradicting the other review's experience with the sewer hookup. This discrepancy highlights the importance of potentially verifying site-specific amenities before booking.

Security at the campground also received mixed feedback. While there is a gate that requires a code for entry, one reviewer pointed out that the exit gate remains open at all times, raising concerns about overall security. The other reviewer mentioned that the gate code will only trigger on the way out with a vehicle, which might have implications for pedestrian access or entry without a vehicle.

In terms of features, the campground offers access to the wider Glen Helen Regional Park, which could be a significant advantage for those interested in exploring the park's attractions and recreational opportunities. The presence of old wood picnic tables and banged-up fire rings was noted by one reviewer, suggesting that the infrastructure might be somewhat dated. The availability of water, electricity, and sewer hookups at some sites, as mentioned by one reviewer, is a feature that would appeal to RV campers seeking basic utility connections. However, the reliability of these hookups appears to be inconsistent based on the contrasting reviews.

Promotional information for Glen Helen Regional Park Campground is not explicitly available in the provided reviews. However, the mention of a $50 per night fee gives an indication of the cost. Potential campers should inquire directly about any discounts, special offers, or variations in pricing based on the type of site or length of stay.

Based on the objective information from these real customer reviews, Glen Helen Regional Park Campground presents a mixed picture for local users in the "Camping Near Me" category. On one hand, it offers a location within a regional park, potentially providing access to nature and recreational activities. Some sites reportedly have water, electricity, and sewer hookups, which can be beneficial for RV campers. The campground might also offer a quieter experience when it is less crowded.

On the other hand, significant concerns have been raised regarding the cleanliness of the facilities, particularly the bathrooms and showers. There are also conflicting reports about the functionality of essential services like sewer hookups. Security is another area of concern due to the consistently open exit gate. The dated condition of some infrastructure, such as picnic tables and fire rings, might also be a consideration for some campers. The $50 per night fee was deemed by one reviewer to be not worth the experience given the issues encountered.

For local users considering Glen Helen Regional Park Campground, it is strongly recommended to weigh these contrasting experiences carefully. If you prioritize access to the regional park and are looking for a potentially quieter getaway (especially during less busy periods) and if you require water, electricity, and potentially sewer hookups, this campground might be an option to explore further. However, it is crucial to be aware of the reported issues with cleanliness, service reliability, and security.

To make an informed decision, it is highly advisable to contact Glen Helen Regional Park Campground directly at the provided phone numbers to inquire about the current conditions of the facilities, the functionality of specific site amenities, and any updates regarding security measures. Asking about recent maintenance or improvements could also provide a more accurate picture of the campground's current state. Additionally, it might be helpful to seek more recent reviews from other sources to get a broader perspective on the current camping experience at Glen Helen Regional Park Campground.
