Grand Marais Campground & Marina Reviews
We were hoping to snag a full hookup site, but the camper right in front of us scored the last spot. We settled for site #218 further back in the campground and it worked out great. It was just a site away from the showers/bathroom house which was convenient to shower all the kids after a long, hot day. Showers are clean, hot and great water pressure. It was a busy weekend but not too loud. Only downside was a tent camped next to us on the final night of our stay and talked until about 1am with a smoky fire a couple feet from our RV. That's the downside of cramming this many sites into the space.Good location for exploring the town, the lighthouse, nearby waterfalls and Boundary Waters Canoe Area.Paid $57 per night on a weekend. Pretty spendy for partial hookups, but it's a good location.Water and power hookups. No sewer.
Aug 18, 2024 · So WickesitedOutstanding campground. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Showers and bathrooms were clean. The site was well kept up. Our only recommendation would be to post the hours of when the bathrooms and showers will be cleaned so campers can work around that. 5*
Oct 10, 2024 · Tammy StobbieWe have been going to GM for over 50 years. The campground location is perfect! Sites can be tough to reserve and tight for a larger camper, but we love the area. Central to the entire area.
Oct 16, 2024 · Mimi PetroskeOverall good camp; biggest complaint: just loud at night. Like tonight for example: got ear plugs in and I’m still listening to loud music from dance/race nearby. In the camp? Don’t know. But it’s loud enough I can hear it with ear plugs in.Pros: clean hot showers; right next to north shore; easy to walk to downtown Grand Marais.
Sep 14, 2024 · Andy StutesmanWe are stayed here over Labor Day weekend!!! Its a 10 minute walk to downtown Grand Marais where all the shops and resaurants are and close to the lighthouse attraction also!!! We were lucky enough the day of check in to grab up the last lake site available (these sites are drop in only and can't be reserved) which made our stay even better!!! It was site 3 and it was a full hook up (electric, water and sewer) and right across from Lake Superior! It was amazing to hear the waves crashing all night long!!! The spots were decent sized and plenty of room between campsites (my opinion) For being a good sized campground it is very quite at night and so family friendly!!! It's a pretty nice campground and such beautiful views of Lake Superior and Grand Marais!!! Definitely recommend staying here if you ever in the area!!!
