In terms of promotional information, the most compelling aspects are the repeated mentions of the beautiful mountain setting and the opportunity for a peaceful and unplugged retreat. The positive testimonials from both campers and parents of summer camp attendees serve as strong endorsements. The campground's appeal lies in its natural charm and the chance to disconnect from technology and reconnect with nature and loved ones. Horseshoe Recreation and Campground Area Reviews
We absolutely love this campground, nestled beautifully between the mountains. The roads can be a bit challenging with a camper, but it's well worth the effort! We enjoyed a 10-day stay in 2023 and returned in 2024 as camp hosts. Be sure to follow the signs to Horseshoe Campground, as GPS can sometimes lead you to the YLA camp. Though there are no showers, dump station, or cell phone coverage, it's a perfect place to unwind and unplug in nature's beauty!
Jun 19, 2024 · Krisann BlairMy kids went to summer camp here and loved it! Highly recommend it!Update my kids have been here 2 years in a row and they had a blast! It's nice to be able to drop them off for a week and then have a great time meet great friends and mom and dad. Not worry if they're safe! Also, it's a great time for digital downtime! No cell phones, no internet, just good old-fashioned nature!
Jul 13, 2024 · Chad SchauAbsolutely magical. This place is beautiful to camp at. Sites are nice, shaded and large. The creek is clean and great to swim in. The camp host are wonderful. This place is a little slice of heaven.
Jun 23, 2024 · Michelle BellClosed when I showed up. I had double checked that it was open before I drove there and the webpage said it was open and still says it’s open—but it is not.Disappointing.Usually the U.S. Forest Service is better at updating the webpage for campgrounds when conditions change.
Sep 30, 2024 · Suzanne S.Wasn't a big fan. People were friendly but amenities sucked. Although there were flushing toilets there weren't any showers available. I came home with infection where it really hurts. Sorry to be blunt but if you run a facility you should have all things available. Next thing is, I'm handicapped and had no reasonable access to the river. Not even Cool. Won't be visiting again until things change.
