One of the defining characteristics of Huntersville Forest Campground, as highlighted by a long-time visitor, is its commitment to a more primitive camping style. This means that the campground typically does not offer amenities such as electric hookups or plumbing. For local users seeking an escape from the conveniences of modern life and a chance to truly connect with nature, this can be a significant draw. It encourages a more self-sufficient camping approach, where you rely on your own resources and the natural environment around you.
Limited Cell Phone Service: A Digital Detox:
Adding to the back-to-nature appeal, reviewers note that cell phone service at Huntersville Forest Campground is minimal or non-existent. In today's digitally connected world, this can be a welcome opportunity for a true digital detox. Huntersville Forest Campground Reviews
This campground is wonderful!!! No electric, plumbing or almost no cell phone service! My family has been coming here for years!! Great for tubing down the river!! We have 3 generations at this campground!! It's also part of my Finnish heritage!!!
Jul 22, 2019 · bonnie denzelGreat camping, can't wait to come back with my dirt bike!
Jun 05, 2021 · Jake WassonFun place to go camping, kayaking, and canoeing. Lots of people like to go tubing here as well. There's a rope swing set up over the river which can be fun for kids. Around supper time a guy drove around delivering firewood to campers for $5 a bundle. Overall a nice place to spend a weekend, but not enough stuff to keep me around for much longer than that.
Apr 26, 2019 · Ryan KernQuiet and clean. Perfect place and time to get away!
Jun 03, 2020 · Jami PickarA great place to camp. We spent one night here while on a canoe trip. There is potable water and the campsites have plenty of room. We visited during the week and it wasn't too busy, but we hear it is quite popular on the weekends.
