Solid little campground about 7 miles from Gold Coast! Came here late September and saw a lot of gnats. However, the spots were pretty well kept, with more sunny and more shady spots. The main bathroom has both running water and coin showers, and no electric hookup (if that is something you look for, it's recommended to go to Secret Camp - they recommended here for us, with no need to have full hookup!!!) - Some “Random” Gal

Huntley Park Introduce

Attention local residents seeking a convenient and enjoyable camping experience along the stunning Oregon coast! Look no further than Huntley Park, a well-regarded campground located approximately 7 miles from Gold Beach, OR 97444, USA. As a featured option in the 'camping near me' category, Huntley Park offers a blend of natural beauty, essential amenities, and proximity to local attractions, making it a great choice for various types of campers.

Based on feedback from fellow campers, Huntley Park is described as a "solid little campground" that is well-maintained. Visitors arriving in late September reported the presence of gnats, which is something to be aware of during certain times of the year. However, the campsites themselves are noted for being "pretty well kept," offering a choice between sunnier and more shaded spots to suit individual preferences and needs. This variety allows campers to select a site that best fits their comfort level and the time of year.

The main bathroom facilities at Huntley Park are equipped with both running water and coin-operated showers, providing a degree of convenience for campers who prefer these amenities. It's important to note that Huntley Park does not offer electric hookups for RVs. For campers specifically seeking full hookups, including electricity, it's recommended to consider Secret Camp, a nearby alternative that was suggested to one reviewer by Huntley Park staff themselves when full hookups were not a necessity. This helpful referral indicates a level of local knowledge and a focus on ensuring campers find the best fit for their needs within the 'camping near me' options.

The atmosphere at Huntley Park varies depending on the time of the week. During the midweek, the campground is generally quiet and peaceful, offering a tranquil retreat for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle. Weekends, however, tend to be busier, attracting more visitors. Despite the increased occupancy on weekends, reviewers have noted that the campground did not become rowdy, suggesting a generally respectful and considerate camping community. This balance between weekday serenity and weekend activity makes Huntley Park appealing to different types of campers seeking various experiences.

The layout of Huntley Park offers different camping experiences depending on location within the park. Staying in the back of the park provides a more pronounced "forest vibe," appealing to those seeking a deeper immersion in nature. In contrast, the front end of the campground can become more like a "tent city" during busier times, with a higher density of campers. This difference in atmosphere within the park allows visitors to choose a location that aligns with their desired level of seclusion and natural immersion.

A potential downside to consider, particularly for those camping in the back of the park, is the distance to the main bathroom facilities. Some campers found the walk to be significant enough that they opted to drive to the restrooms. One reviewer mentioned using a bike, which proved to be very helpful for navigating the campground. However, the distance to the bathrooms could be less convenient during the middle of the night. This is a practical consideration for campers when selecting their site within Huntley Park.

One of the significant advantages of Huntley Park is its easy access to the river. This proximity opens up opportunities for various river-related activities, although specific activities are not detailed in the reviews. Additionally, campers at Huntley Park can enjoy daily views of jet boats passing by on the river, which can be an interesting and unique aspect of the camping experience in this area. This adds a touch of local flavor and potential excitement to the otherwise natural setting.

For local users exploring the 'camping near me' category, Huntley Park offers a well-located and generally well-regarded option near Gold Beach. Its proximity to town allows for easy access to supplies and local attractions, while its riverside location and varied campsite options provide a range of camping experiences. The availability of running water and coin showers in the main bathroom adds a level of convenience that some smaller campgrounds may lack. While the gnat issue in late September and the distance to bathrooms from certain sites are points to consider, the overall positive feedback suggests a worthwhile camping destination.

In summary, Huntley Park offers:
