Environment: According to the review, among the campgrounds in Loud Thunder Forest Preserve, Indian Meadow is considered the closest to a traditional campground experience. A key environmental feature is that "all the spots are set back in the trees," providing a shaded and natural ambiance. The mention of being within the Loud Thunder Forest Preserve implies access to the broader natural resources and potential recreational activities offered by the preserve, although these are not detailed specifically for the campground in this review.
Services and Amenities: The review mentions the presence of a "pit toilet," indicating that restroom facilities are available, albeit of a more basic nature compared to flush toilets and shower houses found in some other campgrounds. The reviewer specifically points out the location of the pit toilet relative to one particular campsite, suggesting its proximity might be a consideration for some campers. Beyond the pit toilet, the review does not provide information about other services or amenities such as water sources, fire pits, picnic tables, or hookups for RVs. The focus of the review is more on the layout and natural setting of the campsites themselves.
Features: A primary feature of Indian Meadow Campground is the layout of its campsites. Being "set back in the trees" and divided by natural vegetation like "trees and bushes" offers a sense of seclusion and a more intimate connection with the natural surroundings. The reviewer also highlights specific campsites, noting that one unnamed site is in a less desirable location due to its proximity to the pit toilet, with frequent foot traffic. In contrast, "#3 seems to be the best spot" because it offers "the most space between its neighboring sites and is set back, the furthest." This suggests that the campground has varying qualities among its individual sites, with some offering more privacy and a better overall experience than others. Indian Meadow Campground Reviews
Out of all the campgrounds here in loud thunder, Indian Meadows is the closest thing I seen to a campground . All the spots are set back in the trees with trees and bushes dividing each campsite. I took a photo of the only campsite that would absolutely be horrible to be stuck at. . Every single man, woman and child would be walking to the pit toilet 50 feet from your tent. #3 seems to be the best spot it has the most space between it’s neighboring sites and is set back, the furthest .
