Kenney Grove Park Introduce
Seeking a camping getaway in the Fillmore area of California? Kenney Grove Park, situated at 823 Oak Ave, Fillmore, CA 93015, USA, might be just the place you're looking for. As a listing under the "Camping Near Me" category, Kenney Grove Park offers a location for outdoor enthusiasts to set up tents or park their recreational vehicles and enjoy the natural surroundings of Ventura County.
Based on feedback from fellow campers, the environment at Kenney Grove Park presents a mix of features. One reviewer noted "lots of space between sites," suggesting a degree of privacy and room to spread out, which is often a desirable aspect of camping. The terrain is described as "fairly sandy and gravely," which could impact ground conditions and might be something to consider when choosing your campsite and footwear. However, another camper mentioned that "the sum of the sites look quite tight to get into, and all together and oddly laid out campground," indicating that while individual sites might be spacious, navigating the campground or the proximity between some sites could be less ideal. It's advisable to inquire about specific site layouts when making a reservation to ensure it meets your needs, especially if you have a larger RV or prefer more separation from neighboring campers.
In terms of services and amenities, Kenney Grove Park provides essential facilities for a comfortable camping experience. The presence of a bathroom is noted, although it's important to be aware that the showers operate on a coin system, requiring quarters to use. This is a practical detail to keep in mind when planning your stay, ensuring you have the necessary change. Trash collection is a positive aspect, with one reviewer mentioning that it occurs every morning, contributing to the cleanliness of the park.
However, a significant concern raised by a recent visitor pertains to the availability of hot water in the showers. They explicitly stated, "NO HOT WATER!!!! Dang that was a BIG BUMMER!!!" and described the experience as a "COLD shower," even though the shower rooms themselves were noted as "very spacious." This lack of hot water was a considerable disappointment and something the reviewer wished they had been warned about beforehand. For potential campers, this is a critical piece of information to consider, especially during cooler months. It would be prudent to confirm the current status of the shower facilities and hot water availability with the park management before your visit.
Another environmental factor mentioned is "all the Dust?" This suggests that during certain times of the year or under specific weather conditions, dust might be prevalent at the campground. Campers sensitive to dust should take necessary precautions.
While specific promotional information is not available in the provided text, the inherent appeal of Kenney Grove Park lies in its location within Ventura County, offering access to the natural beauty and attractions of the region. Fillmore itself is a charming town with its own local flavor and amenities, providing a convenient base for exploring the surrounding area. For those searching under "Camping Near Me," Kenney Grove Park offers a potentially accessible option for a weekend getaway or a longer camping trip.
To summarize the features based on the available reviews:
- Spacious individual campsites (as noted by one reviewer).
- Sandy and gravely ground conditions.
- Potentially tight access to some sites or an odd overall layout.
- Decent bathrooms with coin-operated showers (quarters required).
- Trash collection service.
- Reportedly, no hot water in the showers at the time of one review.
- Potential for dust.
Given the contrasting feedback regarding the site layout and the significant issue of no hot water, it is strongly recommended that prospective campers contact Kenney Grove Park directly at (805) 654-3951 or +1 805-654-3951 to inquire about current conditions, site availability, and to get clarification on the shower situation and any other concerns. Lots of space between sites is fairly Sandy and gravely here. The sum of the sites look quite tight to get into, and all together and oddly laid out campground. The bathroom is a decent takes quarters to run the showers.Did I mention all the Dust?
Nov 10, 2024 · Bruce OrourkeYes it's a nice park with clean restrooms and the trash gets collected every morning. But good luck on the shower situation, because it's going to be COLD. NO HOT WATER!!!! Dang that was a BIG BUMMER!!! woke my wife and myself up really quick. At least the shower rooms are very spacious but it SUCKED to take a COLD shower. We wish we could have had a warning about that.
Oct 20, 2024 · benito moralesTucked into the groves around Fillmore, this gem of a campground is a wonderful place to stop and enjoy the stars on the way to the beach.Bathrooms were clean and stocked.
Jan 02, 2025 · Michael DillenbeckIt’s a small place nothing special that will stand out just a place to get out the city life and chill, small space 1 car 1 tent . Restroom are ok really next to campsite and open you’ll Pickering your farts coz people will hear it lol
Apr 19, 2025 · James UyThis is a cute campground, we how ever are a fairly big rig and we had a tough time getting into our spot. The loop for spots 1-24 was narrow and not much space to maneuver and the vehicles for each spot make it harder. I would suggest tent camping or fairly small rigs would fit well.It was a cute campground and the below review on the chickens is true! No idea where that rooster was living!
