This positive aspect of customer service can significantly enhance the overall camping and mining experience, making guests feel welcome and supported throughout their stay.
For those traveling with recreational vehicles, Lucky Strike offers pull-through spots, which are particularly convenient for larger campers as they eliminate the need for backing up. The campground also has a front store, presumably offering essentials or mining-related supplies within easy walking distance from the campsites.
The core attraction of Lucky Strike Gold and Gem Mine Inc., as its name suggests, is the opportunity to engage in gold and gem mining. Customers have described using equipment like a high banker to search for gold flakes. While one reviewer noted that they didn't find much gold, the experience of trying the process itself can be engaging and educational. The campground also offers "mystery bags" for children, which contain various items for them to discover, adding an element of fun and treasure hunting to the visit. This focus on family-friendly activities makes Lucky Strike a potentially appealing option for local users with children.
Another positive aspect highlighted in the reviews is the welcoming atmosphere created by both the staff and other visitors. One reviewer mentioned being there when a local club was present and noted how nice everyone was. This sense of community and friendliness can contribute to a more enjoyable and social camping experience.
The time spent on the mining activities seems to be a significant part of the visit. One reviewer mentioned spending approximately two hours going through a gem bucket and a gold bucket, and their 8-year-old child thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This provides a sense of the time commitment and the level of engagement involved in the mining activities offered at Lucky Strike.
While the reviews provide positive feedback on staff and the mining experience, they offer limited details about the overall environment of the campground itself. Marion, NC, is located in the western part of the state, nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This suggests that the surrounding environment of Lucky Strike Gold and Gem Mine Inc. is likely to be scenic, with mountainous terrain and possibly wooded areas. However, specific details about the campground's layout, the proximity of campsites to each other, the availability of shade, and the overall ambiance are not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews.
Similarly, detailed information about the full range of services and amenities offered at the campground is not available in the reviews. Beyond the pull-through RV spots and the presence of a front store, details about other facilities such as restrooms, showers, laundry, water hookups, or Wi-Fi are not provided. For local users planning a camping trip, these are often essential considerations. It's advisable to contact Lucky Strike directly to inquire about the specific amenities available for campers.
One review mentions that the "diner house was being rebuilt and looks to be nice." This suggests that there may have been or will be an on-site dining option, which could be a convenient feature for campers who prefer not to cook all their meals. Local users might want to inquire about the status and offerings of this diner when planning their visit.

Lucky Strike Gold and Gem Mine Inc. Reviews
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with information and requests. We used a pull through spot for our camper so we walked over to the front store. We used a high banker and tried our best but did not see much flakes in there. The mystery bag had some great items in it for the kids to find which was fun. The diner house was being rebuilt and looks to be nice.
Apr 24, 2025 · Amanda MoggStaff was very helpful. We were there when their local club was there and everyone was so nice. Highly recommend. I think it took us about 2 hours to go through 1 gem bucket and one gold bucket. My 8 year old loved it!
Mar 22, 2025 · Christina BrownFun place to take the kids and pan for gold. Cool little cabin that you can stay in Good food for lunch or dinner. We cam for what we thought would be an hour and stayed all day. Staff was friendly and helpful. Economical fun for the whole family!!
Jul 12, 2024 · BJ MillerI was staying at LDMA Vein Mountain and not getting much gold, so my group and I went to Lucky Strike to try our luck. Some of us ran high bankers(our own), and we ran material about a ton to a ton and a half at $40 each. The gold was pretty good. It was somewhat fine with some pickers. The experience was very good. The staff was very friendly and made you feel at home. Some in our group did gem bags and were very pleased with what they found. I highly recommend Lucky Strike. If I am in that area again, I would stay in their campground.
