Oak Openings White Oak Campground Reviews
Nice little campsites! Stayed overnight in site 6 for the solar eclipse and it was a nice night. The sites are close to others so it can be loud. No showers either, just toilets and sinks which isn't that bad if only staying for a day. Site was clean and it's nice to have access to wood for cheap in the campground. Overall a great stay!

Nov 14, 2023 · Dustin HornGood location for families with children. There’s a play set in the campground and only 5 mins away are trails and more playgrounds. The dishwashing station was helpful and grey water disposal conveniently located. Facilities were clean and well stocked. The downside was lack of privacy. You can see surroundings campsites even at night and the road is very close by (although quiet at night).
Jul 11, 2022 · Krista KernodleI camped at this campground (site 7) after completing the 15.5 mile Scout Trail loop (aka "Hiking Trail" and Yellow trail) that runs through Oak Openings. I was able to park my car here in the morning, hop on the trail (which runs right through the campground), and return later in the day. The sites are very nicely spaced and shaded, and not right on the parking lot. There are no showers, but there are bathrooms with flush toilets. The firewood is free, which is amazing. There is also a dish washing station near the restrooms, with a huge sink and hot water. I absolutely loved my night here, as well as the hike. Definitely a great park.
May 01, 2018 · Cassandra CoxBathrooms were clean, with automatic lights outside that came on at night as you approached. There is an outside dish sink with sponges & soap provided. Sites were a bit close together, but still felt private with trees and brush surrounding. Firepit was permanent and well constructed with a heavy grate you could flip on or off for cooking, and firewood is provided at no charge. I was impressed that the picnic table was handicapped accessible. Our site had a clear area to pitch the tent and the ground was soft/sandy which made driving tent stakes in very easy. We were very satisfied overall. Be mindful that same day booking must be done by 5pm even if booking online.
