Oasis Riverview campground Introduce
For local outdoor enthusiasts seeking a convenient and scenic "camping near me" experience in Oregon, Oasis Riverview Campground in Maupin offers a compelling option. Situated at 622 US-197, Maupin, OR 97037, USA, this campground boasts a prime location along the picturesque Deschutes River, making it an ideal spot for a variety of outdoor activities and providing easy access to local amenities. Based on available customer reviews, Oasis Riverview Campground presents a blend of appealing features and some considerations that potential campers should be aware of.
The environment surrounding Oasis Riverview Campground is a significant draw, particularly for those planning river-based activities. Its direct adjacency to the Deschutes River offers immediate access for fishing, rafting, and simply enjoying the scenic beauty of the waterway. The reviews highlight the campground's convenient location as a staging point for rafting trips, suggesting its popularity among those looking to explore the river. While specific details about the natural landscape within the campground are somewhat limited, the mention of watered grass in some areas indicates an effort to provide comfortable and relatively soft ground for tent camping. However, one reviewer noted a lack of shade, which is a factor to consider, especially during the hotter months. The campground's proximity to US-197 is both a benefit and a potential drawback. On the one hand, it ensures easy access and connectivity. On the other hand, as noted in a review, campers should expect some noise from passing vehicles. Despite this, the overall location appears to be a major positive, offering a blend of natural beauty and accessibility.
In terms of services, Oasis Riverview Campground provides essential amenities for a comfortable camping experience. The presence of porta potties on-site is mentioned, with one reviewer acknowledging that their condition can be somewhat affected by the heat. While not explicitly stated, it is reasonable to assume the availability of basic campsite features such as designated areas for tents or RVs, and possibly picnic tables and fire rings, although these are not directly confirmed in the provided reviews. The positive feedback regarding the groundskeeper being "so nice and accommodating" suggests a level of on-site management that can enhance the camper experience by providing assistance and ensuring the smooth operation of the campground. A significant advantage highlighted in the reviews is the campground's proximity to local amenities. Campers can enjoy a short walk to nearby shops and restaurants in Maupin, offering convenience for supplies, meals, and exploring the local area. This accessibility to town services is a notable feature for those who appreciate having options beyond the immediate campsite.
The features of Oasis Riverview Campground are largely centered around its riverside location and accessibility. The direct river access is a major feature, catering to anglers, rafters, and those who simply enjoy being near the water. The soft and flat ground in some areas makes tent camping more comfortable. The convenience of being within walking distance of shops and restaurants in Maupin adds a unique dimension to the camping experience, allowing campers to easily access necessities and local flavor without having to drive. The campground's suitability as a basecamp for rafting trips is another key feature, attracting a specific segment of outdoor enthusiasts. However, potential campers should also consider the noted lack of shade and the proximity to the highway, which results in traffic noise. Another point raised in a review is the lack of enforcement of quiet hours, with complaints about generators, music, and loud yelling late at night. This suggests that while the location and basic amenities are appealing, the overall ambiance might be affected by noise levels at times.
Currently, no specific promotional information for Oasis Riverview Campground is provided in the reviews. For local users interested in potential discounts or special offers, it would be advisable to check online booking platforms, local tourism websites, or contact the campground management directly if contact information is available. Campgrounds sometimes offer deals for extended stays, off-season camping, or group bookings. Given its location near a popular rafting destination, it's also possible that package deals combining camping and rafting excursions might be available through local outfitters or the campground itself. To stay informed about any potential promotions, local campers can also monitor social media pages or online forums related to camping in the Maupin area.
In conclusion, Oasis Riverview Campground in Maupin, Oregon, offers a conveniently located riverside camping experience with direct access to the Deschutes River and nearby town amenities. The soft ground for tent camping and the accommodating groundskeeper are positive aspects highlighted by reviewers. However, potential campers should be aware of the potential for traffic noise due to its proximity to US-197 and the reported lack of shade. Additionally, the issue of un enforced quiet hours, as mentioned in a review, is a factor to consider for those seeking a peaceful night's rest. Despite these considerations, its prime location for river activities and accessibility to Maupin's services make Oasis Riverview Campground a worthwhile option for local users looking for "camping near me," particularly those planning a rafting adventure on the Deschutes River. For the most up-to-date information on services, features, and any promotional offers, it is recommended to seek additional details from online booking platforms or by contacting the campground directly.

Oasis Riverview campground Reviews
Great location for camping before a rafting trip. The ground is soft and flat, they keep the grass watered in places so it's comfortable. Porta potties on site, can be kinda rough but that just has to do with the heat in my opinion. Campground is located directly next to a road, not terrible but do expect noise from cars driving by. The grounds keeper here is so nice and accommodating. Just a short walk to a shop and restraunts, and across the road from the river. Overall, very nice campsite
Jul 25, 2023 · Brittni FieldNot a bad campsite. Great location. Would be nice if there was more shade. Biggest gripe is there was no enforcement of the quite time. Generators, music, and loud yelling at 11:00 PM got annoying pretty quick.
