Organized Group Tent Campground Introduce
Calling all local adventurers and organizers of large gatherings! If you're searching for "camping near me" that can accommodate big groups for a primitive camping experience, look no further than the Organized Group Tent Campground near Albrightsville, Pennsylvania. Situated in a beautiful natural setting, this campground is specifically designed for those who prioritize space, safety, and a communal camping atmosphere over extensive on-site amenities. It's an ideal spot for multiple families, groups of friends, church groups, and any large party looking to immerse themselves in the outdoors together.
The Organized Group Tent Campground is located in Albrightsville, PA 18210, USA. This location in the Pocono Mountains region of Pennsylvania is known for its scenic beauty, offering a backdrop of lush forests, rolling hills, and nearby natural attractions. For local users searching for "camping near me" within the Poconos, Albrightsville is a conveniently located area that provides a gateway to outdoor adventures. The campground itself is noted for being set away from the road, a significant feature that enhances safety, particularly for groups with children. This separation from traffic allows kids to play and explore with relative freedom, providing peace of mind for supervising adults.
The environment at the Organized Group Tent Campground is geared towards a more rustic and communal camping experience. As indicated by multiple reviews, this is a "primitive camping" area, meaning that extensive amenities like showers and proper bathrooms are not directly available at the group sites. However, this focus on a more natural setting is precisely what makes it appealing for those seeking an authentic outdoor experience for a large group. The campground boasts "plenty of spots to set up for making food," suggesting designated or ample space for communal cooking and meal preparation. The presence of a "huge fire ring" further emphasizes the communal aspect, providing a central gathering point for campfires, storytelling, and socializing under the stars. The availability of numerous spots for setting up tents and EZ-ups indicates that the sites are spacious and can comfortably accommodate a large number of people and their camping gear.
While the Organized Group Tent Campground itself does not offer showers or proper bathrooms, it's important to note that comfortable showers and proper bathrooms are available around the visitor center, which is located approximately half an hour away. This provides a viable option for those who desire these amenities, although it requires a short drive. The presence of porta potties at the organized group site offers a basic sanitation solution within closer proximity. This information is crucial for local users searching for "camping near me" to understand the level of on-site facilities available and plan accordingly.
In terms of other services and features, the reviews highlight a few key aspects. Notably, there is no water spigot at the organized campsites, so it is essential for groups to bring their own bottled water. However, water is available at the visitor center for those who bring water containers, requiring a bit of planning for water supply management. Similarly, firewood is not readily available at the group sites, and campers are advised to bring their own. While there is a camp store where firewood can be purchased, it is located near the visitor center, about half a mile from the organized camping area. This suggests that while some supplies are accessible, they are not immediately at hand within the group camping area itself, reinforcing the primitive nature of the experience.
Despite the limited on-site amenities, the location of the Organized Group Tent Campground offers convenient access to essential supplies and nearby attractions. A Dollar General and a small grocery store are located about a 10-minute drive away, providing a quick solution for any forgotten items or last-minute needs. This proximity to local stores adds a layer of convenience that can be particularly helpful when camping with a large group. Furthermore, the area around Albrightsville is described as a "beautiful little place" with "a lot of natural sightseeing nearby." The presence of "decent signage" helps with navigation around the area. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the proximity to hiking trails, fishing spots, and waterfalls, all within a reasonable driving distance. This makes the Organized Group Tent Campground not only a great base for group camping but also an excellent starting point for exploring the natural beauty of the Poconos.
There is no specific promotional information provided for the Organized Group Tent Campground. However, the positive reviews emphasizing its suitability for large group primitive camping, the safety of being away from the road, and the spaciousness of the sites serve as strong endorsements. The accessibility to nearby amenities and natural attractions further enhances its appeal for local users seeking a group camping experience in a scenic location. The fact that it caters specifically to large groups looking for a more rustic experience sets it apart from campgrounds with more extensive on-site facilities, making it a unique option for those with specific needs.
For local users searching for "camping near me" that can comfortably accommodate large groups for a primitive camping adventure, the Organized Group Tent Campground near Albrightsville, PA, offers a compelling option. Its spacious sites, safe environment away from the road, and proximity to both essential conveniences and natural attractions make it a practical and appealing choice for group outings. While it's important to be prepared for the limited on-site amenities like water and firewood, the nearby visitor center and local stores provide accessible alternatives. The opportunity to enjoy a communal camping experience in the beautiful Pocono Mountains, with easy access to hiking, fishing, and waterfalls, makes the Organized Group Tent Campground a noteworthy destination for your next group camping trip.

Organized Group Tent Campground Reviews
For large group primitive camping, this is a great spot. If you are looking for showers and other amenities, this isn’t the spot. That’s the family camp ground. If you want a spot to bring a bunch of families or friends or a church group (why we came), it’s great. The spot is away from the road, so the kids can play in relative safety without you worrying about them being hit by a stray idiot. There are plenty of spots to set up for making food, hanging out around a huge fire ring, and setting up tents and EZups.
Jun 04, 2022 · Earl LynchGreat little place for some weekend camping. The organized group site DOES NOT have facilities or showers (just porta potties) HOWEVER there are comfortable showers and proper bathrooms around the visitors center just about a half hour away.Bring bottled water, no water spigot at organized camp sites (water available at visitor center if you bring water containers)Bring your own fire wood as well; although there is a camp store, again near the visitor center about a half mile up the road. There's a dollar general and a small grocery store about 10 minute drive away, if you forgot something and need to pick it up.Beautiful little place, with a lot of natural sight seeing near by, decent signage to help you get around. There are hiking trails, fishing, waterfalls near enough by car.
Oct 11, 2023 · Peter CariosciaWe picked this campsite as an out-of-state scout troop seeking a camp location near the great biking opportunities at Lehigh Gorge. The group campsite we stayed at, "D," has a creek running between the parking area and the campsite. The space was fairly large (the reason we picked it) and has plenty of picnic tables, but in wet or rainy weather you'll need a dining fly (no pavilion) and well-planned routes to water supply, bathrooms, and parking area to account for stream crossing. The group camp is very easy to miss off the highway. Pay close attention to the directions! We would go again, but we would pick a different site if the weather was wet.
Apr 24, 2022 · Dustin TarditiCamp site was clean and not too noisy. All the outhouses are grouped in one spot so its a bit of a walk to get to them. No water that I saw so you should bring it.
Sep 07, 2022 · Philipp MolzerPark is beautiful and the campsites are pleasant. The bathroom facilities (Portapotties with just hand sanitizer) leave something to be desired.
