Looking for a "camping near me" experience in the Cass City, Michigan area that offers a well-maintained environment and a variety of amenities? Sanilac County Evergreen Park, located at 4731 N Van Dyke Rd, presents itself as a highly regarded option based on recent customer reviews. This park appears to be a popular choice for RVers and campers seeking clean facilities, spacious sites, and a pleasant atmosphere within Sanilac County.
One of the first impressions from the reviews is the ongoing commitment to park improvements. A visitor noted seeing "continued improvements being made," suggesting that the management is actively investing in the upkeep and enhancement of the campground for the benefit of its guests. This dedication to maintenance can contribute significantly to a positive camping experience.
The presence of a "pond" is also highlighted, with one reviewer noting that it was "so clean." This suggests that the park offers a scenic water feature that is well-cared for, potentially providing opportunities for leisurely activities or simply enjoying the view. The mention of "A B.A.T.E Loves this place" is intriguing, although without further context, the specific reasons for this affinity are unclear. It could imply that the pond or the surrounding environment is particularly attractive to a certain group or for a specific type of activity.
Cleanliness appears to be a strong suit of Sanilac County Evergreen Park, with a reviewer specifically mentioning a "very clean bath house." Clean and well-maintained restroom facilities are a crucial aspect of any campground, and positive feedback in this area is a significant indicator of the park's overall quality. The same reviewer also noted "nice sized pull thru lots," which are particularly convenient for RV travelers as they allow for easy entry and exit without the need to back up.
Another enthusiastic camper described Sanilac County Evergreen Park as a "Great place to camp!" and provided further details about the site options and amenities. Notably, they mentioned that "Almost all sites are full hook up," which is a significant advantage for RVers as it typically includes water, electricity, and sewer connections, providing a more comfortable and convenient stay. The availability of full hook-up sites makes this park particularly appealing to those traveling with recreational vehicles.
The variety of campsite sizes and environments is also a plus. The reviewer noted that "Some sites are very large," offering ample space for larger RVs or for families wanting extra room. Additionally, the park offers a mix of "Many pull thru, wooded sites and some in full sun!" This allows campers to choose a site that best suits their preferences, whether they prefer the shade of trees or open sunlight for solar power or satellite reception.
The positive feedback regarding the restrooms is echoed by this reviewer, who stated that they are "always clean." They also highlighted the ongoing efforts of the park management, mentioning that they are "always updating and very pleasant to everyone." This reinforces the impression of a well-managed park with friendly and helpful staff who are committed to providing a positive guest experience.
A unique feature mentioned is the "Halloween decorations" which were described as "really really good." This suggests that the park may host special events or activities during certain times of the year, adding an element of fun and community spirit for campers staying during those periods.
The location of Sanilac County Evergreen Park also offers convenient access to local amenities. The reviewer mentioned that "The local gas stations serve really BIG ice cream!" which could be a fun treat for visitors. Furthermore, a "Dollar General is only a couple miles away" for basic shopping needs, and the towns of "Cass City, and Marlette has larger stores, Bens supermarket is a good place to shop" for more extensive grocery and supply runs.
However, the reviews also point out a significant drawback: "lack of cell or internet service. Basically nothing unless you're in front of the office." This is an important consideration for campers who rely on staying connected for work, communication, or entertainment. The limited connectivity might be a deterrent for some, while others might see it as an opportunity to disconnect and fully enjoy the natural surroundings. It's worth noting that the availability might be slightly better near the office area.

Oct 25, 2024 · Mark Morrow Sr.Great place to camp! Almost all sites are full hook up. Some sites are very large. Many pull thru, wooded sites and some in full sun! Restrooms are always clean and they are always updating and very pleasant to everyone. Halloween decorations were really really good. The local gas stations serve really BIG ice cream! Dollar General is only a couple miles away. But Cass City, and Marlette has larger stores, Bens supermarket is a good place to shop. We always enjoy our stays here. Only draw back is lack of cell or internet service. Basically nothing unless you're in front of the office.
Oct 16, 2024 · KatWe came to the area for a family reunion, and our locally-stationed family members recommended the park as a potential place to camp. We reserved one of the rustic sites for 2 nights. They also have a lot of camper/RV Sites. What a blast! Our site was beautiful: located RIGHT on the river. There were no trees on the site itself, so you’ll want a canopy for shade if camping in the heat of summer. We were camping in September, and the weather was perfect.Easy to get our parking pass and to get set up. The premises are well maintained, the staff is friendly, and they clearly plan events that are family/community friendly (while we were there they hosted a haunted house, a chili cook-off, a pumpkin bowling contest, a site-decorating contest…. It was eventful!I have a medical challenge that requires easy access to a working restroom, and I found the trek to and from our campsite to be reasonable and well-lit at night. There were 2 roomy shower stalls (1 handicap accessible) and plenty of sinks/bathroom stalls (1 handicap accessible) in the ladies’ section of the bathroom. They have wood available for site fire pits at $5/bundle (as of 2023).I definitely recommend this park/campsite!
Sep 17, 2023 · Katie WentaGreat camping spot for the whole family. Whether you want to rough it or have a beautiful camper! Swimming, park, river to fish even! Rustic sites are beautiful! I will be going again soon!
Jun 26, 2018 · Shauna LeighLove this campground. They have a large playground for the kids, a pond for them to swim. You are right next to the Cass River and the best part...you can park your travel trailer between the evergreens!
