Snowbank Campground Introduce
For local users seeking "camping near me" that offers a tranquil setting and convenient access to Yellowstone National Park, Snowbank Campground, located on Mill Creek Rd in Livingston, MT 59047, USA, presents a mixed but potentially appealing option. Situated near Livingston, Montana, it offers a quieter alternative to campgrounds closer to the park's entrances while still providing a reasonable drive for day trips. Based on the limited customer reviews available, this introduction aims to objectively detail the environment, services, and features of Snowbank Campground, while also addressing some concerns raised by visitors.
The environment of Snowbank Campground is described by one reviewer as "great quiet," suggesting a peaceful and potentially less crowded atmosphere compared to campgrounds directly adjacent to Yellowstone. This tranquility could be a significant draw for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle often associated with popular tourist destinations. The campground's location near Livingston also offers the possibility of exploring the town itself, as mentioned by a reviewer who enjoyed a couple of nice day trips into Livingston. The surrounding area of Mill Creek Rd likely features the natural beauty of Montana, potentially including wooded areas, access to streams or rivers (given the mention of good fishing nearby), and the scenic landscapes characteristic of the region.
One of the reviewers specifically highlights the proximity to good fishing spots, which would be a major advantage for anglers seeking "camping near me" with recreational opportunities beyond national park visits. The ability to easily access fishing locations adds to the appeal of Snowbank Campground for those who enjoy this outdoor activity.
In terms of services and features, the limited reviews provide some insights, though not a comprehensive list:
- **Quiet Atmosphere:** As mentioned, the campground is noted for its quiet environment, which can be a valuable amenity for those seeking a relaxing camping experience.
- **Good Location for Yellowstone Day Trips:** Its location near Livingston provides a viable base for taking day trips into Yellowstone National Park. While the exact driving time is not specified, the reviewer who stayed for 10 days found it convenient for this purpose.
- **Proximity to Fishing:** The campground is located near areas offering good fishing opportunities, appealing to campers interested in angling.
- **Access to Livingston:** The town of Livingston is within reasonable driving distance, offering opportunities for shopping, dining, and exploring local attractions.
- **Access Pass Discount (Potentially):** One review mentions a sign indicating an "access pass $10" discount, suggesting that the campground may offer discounts for holders of relevant access passes (though the reviewer's experience with this was negative).
However, one of the reviews raises a significant concern regarding the campground host. The reviewer describes an "unpleasant" experience involving the host questioning their access pass validity, attempting to charge more, and exhibiting unprofessional behavior. This negative interaction included the host allegedly watching the campers, disputing the validity of their access pass based on age, and then failing to return after claiming to make a phone call to verify. This incident culminated in the reviewer leaving the campground after an hour of waiting and finding the host "just hanging out at his camper" at the front. This account highlights a potential issue with the campground management and customer service that prospective campers should be aware of.
The discrepancy between the positive experience of one reviewer (enjoying the location and fishing) and the negative experience with the host in the other review underscores the importance of considering both aspects when evaluating Snowbank Campground. While the natural environment and location may be appealing, the quality of the campground management can significantly impact a camper's overall experience.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the reviews. To inquire about current rates, availability, and any potential discounts (including those related to access passes), it is crucial to contact Snowbank Campground directly using the provided phone numbers: (877) 646-1012 or the mobile number +1 877-646-1012. When calling, it would be prudent to inquire about the campground's policies regarding access passes and to get a sense of the current management practices.
In conclusion, Snowbank Campground offers a "camping near me" option with the advantages of a quiet setting, convenient access for day trips to Yellowstone National Park, and proximity to good fishing spots and the town of Livingston. However, potential campers should be aware of the negative experience reported by one reviewer regarding the campground host, which raises concerns about management and customer service. While the location and natural surroundings may be appealing, it would be wise to gather more information directly from the campground management regarding their policies and to address any potential concerns before booking a stay. The availability of an access pass discount, as indicated by a sign mentioned in a review, is another area to inquire about when contacting the campground.

Snowbank Campground Reviews
Great quiet campground. The host on the other hand made it unpleasant. From the parking on the road by our site and just watching us get things ready for the night or the next morning trying to get me to pay more. He told me that we didn't pay enough and that I was too young to have an access pass and don't get the pass discount. When I argued he told me to wait for him to go make a phone call. We packed up and an hour later he still hadn't come back. Stopped at the front on the way out and he was just hanging out at his camper. Checked the sign and there it was access pass $10.
Jun 04, 2020 · steve bakerWe had a great experience at Snowbank campground, we stayed for 10 days, it was a good location for day trips in to Yellowstone. There was good fishing close by, and we had a couple of nice day trips in to Livingston. We will definitely stay here again
Jan 12, 2019 · Kelli PeternellBeautiful! Campground alongside the spring with plenty of space to have a site away from strangers if that is what you're looking for. Amenities present at the sites that are absent from most locations. Bear boxes and a site bear trash box. Restrooms are attended to regularly.
Jun 26, 2021 · Benjamin WestNice campgrounds. Fire pits in each, a few trash cans around, outhouses, water spouts. There are quite a few nice hiking spots nearby, and the management is very polite. Spots aren't to expensive at all, and the spots are right on the river.
Jun 16, 2018 · Jack FryGreat place to stay the day before you head into the North entrance of Yellowstone. Large sites with lots of privacy and the sound of Mill Creek just adds to the experience.
