Mallards Rest Campground Introduce
For local residents in and around Livingston, Montana, as well as those seeking a convenient camping spot near the Yellowstone River and with easy access to Yellowstone National Park through the 'camping near me' platform, Mallards Rest Campground offers an appealing option. Located at 4097 US-89, Livingston, MT 59047, USA, this campground is situated right off the highway and directly on the banks of the Yellowstone River, providing a blend of accessibility, natural beauty, and proximity to both local amenities and major attractions.
The environment at Mallards Rest Campground is highly regarded for its scenic location directly on the Yellowstone River. Campers can expect to enjoy beautiful views of the river, with opportunities for wildlife viewing right from their campsite. One reviewer recounted seeing a Golden Eagle catching a duck, as well as deer grazing and magpies swirling, highlighting the presence of local fauna. The potential for beautiful sunsets over the river adds to the natural ambiance. While its location right off Highway US-89 provides convenience and connectivity, it might also imply some level of highway noise, although this was not explicitly mentioned as a significant drawback by the reviewers. The overall environment seems to be characterized by its riverside setting and the natural beauty of the surrounding Montana landscape. The easy access to town suggests that campers can readily obtain supplies if needed, balancing the natural experience with practical convenience.
In terms of services, Mallards Rest Campground appears to prioritize cleanliness and ease of use. One reviewer specifically noted that the campground was clean and that the check-in/payment process was clear and precise. The restroom facilities were also reported to be clean, which is a significant factor for camper comfort. A notable service mentioned is the availability of wifi connection, likely due to the campground's location right off the highway, which can be a valuable amenity for those needing to stay connected. The presence of the Yellowstone River offers potential for fishing (though not explicitly detailed), and the proximity to Yellowstone National Park suggests access to a wide range of recreational activities within a short drive. However, one significant issue raised by a reviewer was the noise from a neighboring camper running a generator for an extended period late into the night. This highlights a potential lack of strict enforcement regarding generator usage, which could impact the peacefulness of the camping experience for some visitors. It is advisable for local users to inquire about the campground's policies on generator use and quiet hours when making a reservation or upon arrival.
The features of Mallards Rest Campground include its prime location directly on the Yellowstone River, offering scenic views and potential wildlife sightings. The easy access right off Highway US-89 is a significant feature for convenience, especially for those traveling through or wanting quick access to nearby towns for supplies. The proximity to Yellowstone National Park is a major draw, making it a convenient base for exploring the park's attractions. The individual campsite mentioned, #4, was priced at $18 at the time of the review, suggesting that the campground offers affordable rates. The clean restrooms are a positive feature contributing to a comfortable stay. However, the potential for noise from inconsiderate campers running generators for extended periods is a feature that could detract from the experience for some. Local users might want to inquire about site selection to minimize potential noise issues, if possible. The combination of a riverside location, accessibility, and affordability makes Mallards Rest Campground a noteworthy option for those seeking 'camping near me' in the Livingston area.

Just what we were looking for in a campsite! Clean, check in/payment process was clear and precise, restroom was clean! Right off the Highway so we had wifi connection and access to town if we needed supplies. Would certainly return and will recommend to family and friends. 👍❤

Aug 11, 2020 · ScrubberPretty spot, totally unimproved campground, primitive camping but inexpensive. Be aware the road down to campsites is very steep.
Nov 17, 2018 · Mary OhBasic but cheap, when everything is full around, you can set here... But mosquitoes are going to look at you. Fire place, toilet, but no water access!! You can go to the river instead. Be prepared and pay with the envelope system at your arrival! Anyone is there to take the money so they can punish you!
Jul 19, 2018 · I L HHighly photogenic location for nature all seasons. Can enjoy scenery from level at highway or drive down into campground which is steep and rocky. Very peaceful place to enjoy the Yellowstone River.
