Elk River Crossing Reviews
We stayed here in the middle of July for one night and it was a beautiful experience. We arrived at 6 pm on a hot day, but with the breeze, the temperature was pleasant. The hosts, Ira and Beverly, were really nice and welcoming. We played with horseshoes and got an archery lesson from Ira . The restrooms and showers were clean and provided hot water. The picnic tables are not too heavy and are easy to move in case you want shade. The best time to get there is in the afternoon when it's not too hot. The tipis are bigger than expected. Getting there might be a little intimidating, but that's part of the adventure, and it's well worth it.We'll coming back for sure in our next trip to Yellowstone.

It was so cozy and my whole family loved it.Ira and Bev have put so many fun details into the property and are so friendly and accommodating. It's incredible how you get to experience both amazing sunsets and sunrises. The bathrooms and showers were fantastic for a campground. The water was warm and everything was extremely clean. They had fun activities like horseshoes and archery.I've read other reviews about the road. The dirt road is 4 miles long, it probably took 10 mins. Just be prepared for it and you'll be fine.I loved how beautiful the view was and the incredible experience.Ira and Bev are very dedicated to you having a memorable experience and you'll learn about the Native American culture with Ira being from the Crow tribe.
Aug 03, 2024 · Michelle WithersVery fun and beautiful place to stay. My family of five stayed one night. We had 3 kids 10 and under. We enjoyed the horse shoes game and archery. The bathrooms are nice and clean. Hot water. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. They even mailed us the necklace my son forgot in the teepee. The gravel road to their location was a bit difficult but I was able to make it in a mini van with good tires no problem. I have very little off road experience so I was a little nervous. There are two hills that might be a challenge if it has been raining heavy. But a truck or SUV with good tires should have no issue. The teepee was very spacious and even though it rained multiple times at night we stayed completely dry. The views are spectacular! I would stay there again.
Aug 14, 2024 · ZachStayed at one of the campsites over 4th of July. Amazing views, plus you can watch the fireworks from here. Had a bad storm roll through while I was gone one day, and the hosts saved my tent from snapping and sent me a text about it so I didn't have to worry or rush back. Great communication and accommodation. Bathrooms/shower very clean.Like others said, the county road was very rough, but if you drive slow and have a small suv or similar, it's not a problem and well worth it!
Jul 08, 2024 · Kelsey WatsonDetailed Review: What a beautiful area and impressive tipis! The hosts Ira and Beverly went above and beyond to ensure our experience was a good one. My kids and I were on a road trip and, after communicating with Beverly through email, we arrived at a late dinner time to a welcoming Beverly and Ira making a fire for us to cook our hot dogs. brought our simple tent for a tent site.Note: We did not anticipate the high winds that night and our tent was not holding up as it is an open/exposed area and staking it down was difficult in the rocky soil. But Beverly responded quickly to my request to switch to a tipi. They both came out in the weather and helped my alarmed kids and me transfer to one of their open tipis. They said "this is our gift to you" and helped make sure we were all comfortable to get to sleep. In the morning, after we did get some rest in the strong/storm-withstanding tipi, we added some cash to a thank you card and said good bye. We will always remember the adventure and Ira & Beverly and their kind grandkids.
