Summit Lake Campground Introduce
Looking for a serene "camping near me" experience in Oregon, away from the crowds? Consider Summit Lake Campground, located somewhere in Oregon, USA (the precise address isn't specified in the provided information). Based on the available customer reviews, this campground offers a unique opportunity for a peaceful retreat, though it's important to note certain characteristics.
One camper recounted their experience of staying at Summit Lake Campground for a night after other campgrounds in the area were full. They described it as "beautiful" and highlighted the remarkable seclusion, noting that there wasn't another person around for miles. Basic amenities include a bathroom on-site. Potable water, if needed, is available about 10 miles away. The primary reason this camper didn't extend their stay was that they were looking to fish, and they discovered that this particular lake does not have any fish. This is a crucial piece of information for those who enjoy fishing as part of their camping trips.
Another reviewer simply described Summit Lake as a "beautiful lake to relax with friends," emphasizing its suitability for peaceful enjoyment. They also pointed out that it is a "pack in and pack out" location with "only a few spots," suggesting a more primitive camping experience with a limited number of available sites, further contributing to its potential for seclusion. The "pack in and pack out" aspect means that campers are responsible for bringing everything they need and taking all their trash with them when they leave, which is typical for more remote or less developed campgrounds.
Environment and Location:
Summit Lake Campground is situated somewhere in the state of Oregon, offering access to a "beautiful lake." The environment is described as peaceful and potentially very secluded, with one reviewer noting the absence of other people for miles. This suggests a natural setting that is ideal for those looking to escape into tranquility. The presence of a lake indicates opportunities for lakeside relaxation, and the surrounding area likely offers scenic beauty typical of Oregon's diverse landscapes. However, the lack of fish in the lake, as mentioned by one reviewer, is a significant environmental characteristic to be aware of, especially for anglers.
The "pack in and pack out" nature of the campground implies a more natural and less developed setting compared to campgrounds with full amenities. This often means a greater sense of immersion in nature but also requires campers to be self-sufficient.
Services and Features:
Based on the limited reviews, the services and features of Summit Lake Campground include:
- Bathroom: There is at least one bathroom facility available at the campground.
- Potable Water (Nearby): Potable water is accessible about 10 miles away from the campground. Campers should plan accordingly if they require potable water.
- Beautiful Lake: The lake itself is a central feature, described as beautiful and suitable for relaxation. However, it does not contain fish.
- Secluded Atmosphere: The campground can be very quiet and uncrowded, offering a sense of being alone in nature.
- Limited Number of Spots: The campground has only a few spots, which likely contributes to the secluded feel but might also mean that availability can be limited.
- Pack In and Pack Out: Campers must bring everything they need and take all their trash with them.
Features that are not mentioned include individual campsite amenities like picnic tables or fire rings, the type of bathroom facility available, and whether there are any designated trails or other recreational opportunities besides enjoying the lake itself.
Features and Highlights for "Camping Near Me" Seekers:
For local users searching for "camping near me," Summit Lake Campground offers:
- Seclusion and Tranquility: Ideal for those wanting to get away from crowded campgrounds.
- Beautiful Lakeside Setting: A picturesque lake perfect for relaxation.
- Basic Amenities: Includes a bathroom, with potable water available nearby.
However, potential visitors should also be aware of the "pack in and pack out" requirement and the fact that the lake is not suitable for fishing.
Missing Information:
To provide a more detailed introduction, several key pieces of information are missing:
- The exact location/address of Summit Lake Campground in Oregon.
- The number and types of campsites available.
- Details about campsite amenities (e.g., fire pits, picnic tables).
- The type of bathroom facility available.
- Information about any other recreational activities besides enjoying the lake.
- Any regulations or fees associated with camping at Summit Lake Campground.
- Whether reservations are required or if it's first-come, first-served.
Without a more specific location, it's difficult for local users to determine its proximity. Further research would be needed to find the exact location and additional details about this campground.
Promotional Information:
The reviews highlight the beauty and peacefulness of Summit Lake, which serves as a natural promotion for those seeking a quiet and scenic "camping near me" experience. The seclusion could also be a major draw for those wanting to truly escape into nature. However, there are no specific promotional offers mentioned. The unique characteristics, such as the lack of fish in the lake and the pack-in, pack-out policy, are presented factually and could be seen as either a benefit (for those seeking a pristine environment) or a drawback (for anglers or those preferring more developed campgrounds).
In Conclusion:
Summit Lake Campground in Oregon offers a potentially beautiful and secluded "camping near me" option centered around a picturesque lake. It's characterized by its tranquility and the need for campers to be self-sufficient due to the "pack in and pack out" policy. While it provides a bathroom on-site, potable water is located about 10 miles away. A key point to note is that the lake does not have any fish. This campground seems best suited for those who prioritize a peaceful and natural environment for relaxation over fishing or highly developed amenities. Given the limited number of spots mentioned, it might be a quieter and less crowded option compared to larger campgrounds. However, without a precise address and more details about the campground's specifics, local users will need to seek further information to determine its exact location and suitability for their needs. If you value solitude and a beautiful, albeit fishless, lake setting, Summit Lake Campground could be your ideal "camping near me" destination in Oregon.

Summit Lake Campground Reviews
We camped here for a night after all other camp grounds around the area were totally full. It was beautiful and there wasn't another person around for miles. They have a bathroom, potable water is available about 10 miles away if needed. The only reason we didn't stay longer was we were looking to fish and this lake does not have any fish in it at all.

Jun 18, 2021 · Safeway JoeLoud stereos, motorboats, jet skis and a ton of children running through the campgrounds. There's really nowhere to go or hike to from here and with the roads open again there's no reason to stop.
