Moosehead Trail Campground Introduce
Looking for an exciting and amenity-rich "camping near me" experience in Maine? Moosehead Trail Campground, located at 781 Moosehead Trail, Newport, ME 04953, USA, offers a vibrant and convenient destination for both seasonal and short-term campers. With a direct phone line available at (207) 974-6241 or the mobile-friendly number +1 207-974-6241, planning your stay at this well-regarded campground is made easy.
Based on recent feedback from enthusiastic campers, Moosehead Trail Campground stands out for its impressive array of amenities and its prime location with direct access to ATV trails. One long-term seasonal camper, entering their sixth season, expressed their love for the campground, highlighting the "great amenities" available. These include a convenient store on-site for all your camping necessities, a laundromat to keep things fresh during longer stays, and propane fill services for those requiring it. For recreation and relaxation, the campground boasts a swimming pool and a playground, making it an excellent choice for families.
Adding to the lively atmosphere, Moosehead Trail Campground offers entertainment in the form of live bands on most weekends, providing a fun and social experience for campers. Families with children will also appreciate the craft and activity sessions organized for kids on selected weekends, ensuring that there's always something engaging happening at the campground. Furthermore, the campground's access to trails opens up opportunities for exploration and outdoor adventures.
A significant highlight for adventure enthusiasts is the direct access to ATV trails. One first-time camper at Moosehead Trail Campground raved about this feature, noting that it provides a gateway to "amazing restaurants and some attractions." This direct trail access is particularly beneficial for those with "toy haulers" looking to maximize their ATV riding opportunities straight from their campsite. The convenience of being able to ride directly from the campground to local points of interest adds significant value for ATV enthusiasts seeking "camping near me" in Maine.
The same first-time camper also praised the affordability of the campground, stating, "You can’t beat the price for full hookup." This suggests that Moosehead Trail Campground offers competitive rates for sites equipped with full hookups, which is a significant advantage for RV campers looking for convenience and value. Full hookups typically include water, electricity, and sewer connections, providing a comfortable and hassle-free camping experience.
The on-site camp store is another valuable amenity, described as having "everything you need plus more!" This indicates that campers can rely on the store for essential supplies, snacks, and potentially even souvenirs or other useful items, reducing the need to travel off-site for basic necessities. This convenience enhances the overall camping experience, allowing guests to spend more time enjoying their vacation.
It is worth noting a comment regarding seasonal campers. While one post mentioned several seasonals leaving, another response suggested that the number might not be as high as perceived. The reasons for seasonal campers not returning can vary, including upgrading trailers, taking trailers home for the winter, being asked not to return (presumably due to rule infractions), or personal life changes. This information provides some insight into the dynamics of a seasonal campground community but does not detract from the positive experiences of other campers.
The positive sentiments expressed by both long-term and first-time visitors underscore the welcoming atmosphere and the quality of the facilities and services at Moosehead Trail Campground. The mention of specific staff members ("Rich, Lisa, Rachel, TJ, Tim and crew") and the thank you for "another great season" highlights the dedication and positive impact of the campground's management and team.
For local users searching for "camping near me" that offers a blend of recreational opportunities, convenient amenities, and a lively social scene, Moosehead Trail Campground in Newport, Maine, is an excellent choice. The direct access to ATV trails is a unique feature that caters to adventure seekers, while the pool, playground, and planned activities make it family-friendly. The presence of a store, laundromat, and propane fill service adds practicality for both short and extended stays. The positive feedback regarding the price for full hookups also makes it an attractive option for RV owners.
While specific promotional offers are not mentioned in the provided reviews, the overall positive impression and the range of amenities suggest a campground that provides good value for money. Moosehead Trail Campground Reviews
The 2024 camping season is coming to an end - October 15th is always a sad day but the countdown starts to May 15th.This has been my 6 season at the campground. Love it there! Campground has great amenities - store on site; laundromat; propane fill on site; pool; playground; entertainment (bands) most weekends; craft/activities for kids on selected weekends; and access to trails. Like all campgrounds there are rules and if you follow them your stay will be great - if you don't follow them that will be addressed.Saw a post that several seasonals leaving - not sure that there are as many as people may think!. Some swapping out trailers; some take their trailers home for the winter; some may have been asked not to return; and for some life circumstances may not promote seasonal camping anymore.Thank you Rich, Lisa, Rachel, TJ, Tim and crew for another great season. See you in May!
Oct 13, 2024 · Marcia SmithThis was our first time camping at Moosehead Trail Campground, and I had the best experience! You can’t beat the price for full hookup, they had a live band on Saturday night which was awesome! Direct access to ATV Trails leading you to amazing restaurants and some attractions. Camp store has everything you need plus more! Definitely recommend this campground if you have a toy hauler and want direct ATV access to the trails!
Aug 09, 2024 · Caitlyn O'BoyleBeen camping here for 8 years doing a seasonal. Have seen a lot of progress and changes over the years. Currently they are adding a whole new area for new sites.. probably will be ready next year! First year we were there they had enough dock room for two boats. Now we have way better docks and pretty close to 20 boat slips. The Sebasticook lake is the perfect size to go boating and not get bored. Has good bass fishing as well and a few places you can pull up to and get out and swim. And a new marina has just arrived down by town if you need a place to rent or dock boats. Golf carts and atvs are allowed in campground. Anything not registered just can’t be on the atv trail. The camp ground is right on one of the best atv trails in Maine. Has bands or some kind of entertainment every two weeks. New playground, has a pool, arcade, basketball court and activities on most weekends for kids. And the camp store has a bit of everything (great beer selection) and is open everyday now! Most of the campground is seasonal but does have plenty of spots for campers on the move! Does have rules just like anywhere. Probably the biggest rule is 5mph. Dogs or pets are definitely encouraged just gotta keep them on a leash. If you follow the rules you’ll not have any problems. And the campground is ten mins away from town(Newport) which has everything. Also has public clean restrooms with showers and also a laundry mat if you need to do laundry. So I would definitely recommend it. Can’t really beat the seasonal price and electricity and sewer is included. Also has 2 cabins and a couple trailers to rent if you don’t have a camper.
Aug 14, 2024 · David Wallace (Wally)If you know, you know. If not you will soon find out. I’ll just say… there’s a reason that more than 15 seasonal campers are leaving this year!!
